No spice curry

I love curry. There are no indian restaurants near to where I live so I have had to learn how to make these curries myself. I use recipes from Curryfrenzy.com which are just like you get in Indian restuarants. However these can be time consuming as you have to make curry masalla gravy etc etc. I was wondering if anyone has any quick curry recipes which don't have all the different spices added. I have heard yu can make a curry which takes it flavour from the onions pepper and chilli. If you know of such a recipe which does not require garam masalla and turmeric that would be great as I can't find these spices in this country. Looking forward to getting responses on this.
