Have you bought new sweaters for the winter?

Its starting to get cold in my city. I have my old sweater tucked away in the suitcase. I will need to use it at nights when it gets really cold. During the day time one can manage without the sweater. What about you guys? Have you started using the sweater or are you waiting for it to get really cold and then rush to stores to buy a sweater?

Yes! I bought four soft warm sweater tops just yesterday at a 70% off sale. I wore one today and was toasty warm and very comfortable. It had been quite some time since I bought a nice sweater. I bought 2 pairs of jeans, too, and although they were only 50% off, they were a perfect fit, which makes me very happy. The last pair I bought was 90% off, but I had to sew alterations to make them fit right. So now I have enough sweaters and long pants for the winter and probably will not buy any more for 3 or 4 years.

Hi Vanillarey, Here the climate is changing and people started to wear full sleeves. There is cool in the morning and night and day time is still warm. I have pulled back my kids' winter wears and they started to wear little warm cloths but no Sweaters yet. We do not purchased any new winter cloths so far. We have to go for a shopping in the next month, I suppose. Once the winter gets in its peak we can't manage day time without Sweaters.

Calcutta is not really very cold in the winters (thank God for small mercies LOL)…its around 10 to 12 degrees celcius on very cold days so I really don’t have that many sweaters or woolen garments. I find them to a waste of investment as India is basically a summer country. I have two coats, one half sleeved and the other full sleeved and a few woolen shawls and they suffice for my entire winter. Otherwise a have silk garments which are just wonderful for the pleasantly cool weather…so no, I’m not going to buy any sweaters as of now.

Where I live it is cool during the day right now but then gets cold at night. We wear long sleeves during the day right now but we need a jacket at night. I have several jackets and sweaters from last year. I haven't bought any new ones this year though. I'll just use what I have already cause they are all still in good shape and they all still fit me.

Indian city - I am in northern part of India, whose Capitol City governs complete politics and produced maximum number of Prime-Ministers
Hello my friend VANILLAREY Ji, Well, I am using two sweaters in day time and shawl as well. We use quilts during night and burn fire-wood to keep the body warm. Normally, as a old people, we do not go out of the house after 07 PM, as we complete our walking etc. before that. I wish to take you to my place of living. May God bless YOu an dhave graet time.

I bought some last year on clearance after the season ended....but I have bought some new sweats to wear at home to keep comfy and cozy in! I am not a huge fan of sweaters....more the dressy sweats or long sleeved knit tops.

We don't have winter here in Trinidad 'cause we are in the tropics but what I need is a hat to cover my head with all this rain that's going on now. I had a hat. A 20 dollar affair I bought about two or three years ago that did me just fine. I discovered that as long as your head doesn't get wet you can survive any kind of rain. So my hat did me fine until I lost it in a friend's car. Of course, I haven't seen my friend for months. Ever since I forgot the hat in his car. What a drag !

Hey Vanillarey! I have just started to take out my winter clothes, but have not really had to wear them yet! It is just starting to get a bit chilly here where I live too! I haven't started to wear my "real" warm clothes yet! But, they are ready to wear if necessary! I have my sweaters, hoodies, sweat shirts, boots and winter coats, gloves, scarves all ready and waiting for the temperatures to drop just a bit more so I can be all set when they do! I am hoping that it will be at least another month before I will really have to get out all that winter gear!

Ooh I wish I lived in a place with all four seasons. Things like sweaters or winter outfits do not figure here at all. Sometimes it gets cold enough in the mornings in the months of December and January for us to actually put a sweater on, but you can bet that come noontime one can easily be in shorts and a tank top again. Such is life in the tropics. The most prep we do when it comes to clothes is for rain, I guess. You can wear summer clothes pretty much the whole year.

Climate has changed a bit here in my place since December is now coming. It is not too cold, but during night time,it is advisable to wear sweater when going outside. Since,it is not a usual daily clothes,i guess,i won't be buying a new sweater this time. I still had my old ones lying on my cabinet, and i am really about to check it so i have something to wear when i need to go out at night time. I hope somebody would gifted me a new sweater this Christmas season...i would really appreciate it

I will wear what I have here this winter. All of my sweaters are washable so I wear and wash on a regular basis. I hate to shop so as the last resort, I'll get out there and buy something new. The sweaters I have now are in good shape and can be worn atleast one more winter. Chilly here too and has been raining forever which makes it feel cooler.

Sweater? No. I live in Queensland, Australia and we are heading for summer - a very hot, very humid summer, so while sweating is on my mind, a sweater is not. In this climate, a light linen jacket is all I need even in the winter, although sometimes we have a cold night or two. However, I do travel to cold areas of Australia and I did buy a nice woollen jacket a few months ago. While I was in Melbourne early this month, I wore it every day and was very thankful for it.

Hi,friend, your discussion has reminded me the need to purchase sweaters to my daughters within week time.Because they are growing and the old one's are become tight to them even though they looks good.I try to donate them to poor. For me there is no need as i had purchases last year only. Have a nice time.

I haven't bought any new sweaters yet for the winter season. With Christmas and a winter birthday, I am usually amply supplied for sweaters. If i do see a sweater in a store that particularly catches my eye, I will buy it. Otherwise, I just wait to see if I get a sweater as a gift.
