I think many people never think of this matter... I have ask many fried but they say it sure would not happen to them.. I have a real story... Three weeks ago i follow a friend to see an eye specialist.. My friend told me that the eye specialist consultant advised him to check his eye at least once a year. He was told that his eye got some problem but the specialist also do not know how to cure his problem, but that case only happen in 0.0000001% people. So, my friend was sad because if come to serious stage, he might blind... He now starting try to feel everything by his hand touch, listen by ear.. He say this is hard but he must prepare before that day come.. He is strong-willed. I'm so sad about his matter but what can i do? If i become blind one day, i think i sure will trouble many people. I do not know whether i can still live as normal when i become abnormal. My future will destroy & meaningless. I only can depend on my life partner. I am very scared. So, since that day, i very take care of my eye. I pray for my friend, GOD Bless him....

I am sorry to hear about your friend, I am sure that it is very difficult to become blind. I think it is different if you have always been blind, but if you have been used to a normal eyesight, it must be hard to adjust to a life where you are blind. I am an artist, and if I became blind, I wouldn't be able to see the colours any longer, and I know that I would miss that very much. I also love travelling and I love seeing interesting and beautiful places around the world. I would miss that very much, too. If I got blind, it would be a really big challenge to learn to adjust to my new life. I don't know how I would do it, but if I really had to, I guess I could learn to cope which the difficult situation.

I might be missed this topic and miss the the chance to post response to this discussion...Out o all physically lapses, blindness is hell.If we have eyes with other physical lapses,we can adjust and try to do all the activities. But in the case of blindness,we have to depend on others for every work.So i wish god bless them all as you said and we also do whatever help we can, with the help of NGO's and personally.
