last week,i saw a cockroach in my bathroom,i screaming ran to top of the bed ,my kids were along(much to the amusement of my in-laws and hubby)my hubby picked the cockroach up with bare habnds and threw it outside. Are you afraid of cockcoaches?I reckon most of the women do and men seems not to be afriad of it. Do you leave it alive and let it run around because you simply are not afraid of it? Or do you kill it at once? do you kill it by your hands or spray the insecticides? Do you just throw it to the rubbish bins or do you wrap it up to make sure it will not escape in case you have not killed it?how do you do it???

I use spray insecticides or slipper to kill cockroaches and pick them up with cardboard and throw them outside or flush it. I'm scared of cockroach and if my Husband is home I will ask him to take care of it, lol.

I will not leave it unless I've killed it by whatever means. Mostly I'd step on it and squeeze it tightly so it will turn into pieces before I'd sweep and throw in the bin. I hate crawling cockroaches and I will not leave them alive. But you are so funny! You seemed to be so afraid of cockroaches. Well, I can't blame you, most women are, but not me. They should rather be afraid of me because I will surely kill anyone I spotted.

You sound like my granddaughter. I heard her crying one night and I thought something had happened to her boyfriend but no. A cockroach had run across her foot. I don't fear the little monster but get the job of killing them for her. she won't go in a room if she knows one is there. I usually kill it then pick it up in a piece of toilet paper and flush it away.

She would just avoid the room until some one came to kill it for her.

OMG Riya don’t tell me…even my hubby picks it up with his bare hands and then just throws it out of the window ewww ewww ewww uggghhhhhhh yuk yuk yuk…I really fail to understand how somebody can catch a large creepy crawly insect with serrated legs with bare hands…I’m actually shivering even as I write my response. You know what I told my son one day…if ever you father wants to kill me (after one of our legendary fights and we were not on talking terms) all he has to do is empty a jar full of roaches on me and I would die of heart attack…OMG I am so scared of them i dont care what one does with it as long as I dont have to do anything at all and somebody removes that creature from my eyesight. Seriously Riya, I sometimes wonder what utility does the roach serve (except for scaring women) that its one of the oldest surviving insects on earth?

Leaving cockroaches roaming around the house is not only an ugly sight but they will spread germs in our house. We shouldn't allow them to invade our house and we should kill them at sight because they breed very fast. I have this pest control people coming to the house to spray the house every now and then to prevent these uninvited guest nesting in my house.

you know that saying..by the time you see one, there's probably dozens hiding somewhere.trying to kill it doesn't always work.they're pretty fast. the last one i saw in my old apartment pretty much laughed at me when i hit it with a coffeecup.as soon as i lifted it,off he went. you're probably better off getting an exterminator.

Hi riya, It depends on the size, if it is a large one then killing is difficult for me, if my hubby at home he can take care of it otherwise I will sweep them out. If the spray is available I will use the spray else I will allow it to go out. In our place only small sizes are seen most. Now we are using some herbal powder which will keep away the cockroaches, yes it is effective. Congrats for getting the blue star.

Well I would kill it cause they carry so much sickness they are nasty. But we don't have roaches. The best way to get rid of roaches is so easy. Just put out some baking soda all around the base boards and in the cabinets, just a small line of it barley noticeable to the human eye, and the roaches will eat it and they will die off. They can't expel gas so they blow up and die. You will hear them pop and there will be a mess after they die but it is all worth not having to put up with those nasty things. No reason to be scared of them your bigger then them just step on it and be rid of it.

That is how I keep roaches out of our home. It takes some time at first to get them all out but believe me I know it works. You only have to do this about once a month with the baking soda. Hope it helps you. Good luck!

What I do always is remove one of myb slippers and hit the loathsome pest and make a pulp of it and wash my lone slipper.I don't know but I always do this.May be because I carry at the back of my mind that these vermin are the cause f Asthma..

I have never actually seen a cockroach but I think I would try and kill it if I did see it. They gross me out just thinking about them so I imagine I would rather run away from it but if I was alone, I would kill it. If my husband was home, he would do it for me. Yuck, I can't imagine seeing a cockroach.

I know, I am fortunate to live in an area where they are pretty rare. At least I assume they are rare because I have not come across any. I have seen pictures of them and they are so gross. Hopefully I can live my entire life without seeing one. That would be a real achievment.
