I was doing a web search earlier on the political situation in Nigeria and the website for Pravda popped up. Being me, I was instantly sidetracked and clicked the link. Pravda is the national newspaper of Russia and I found it interesting that it was online and in English.
I did find an article there on Nigeria, and also a side link to the importing of Western holidays. This is what I found in the side link:
"Halloween: Anglo Paganism On The March
10/30/2009 [article] / Opinion / Columnists
The Holy Orthodox Church (of Russia) has for several years now come out strongly against the imported "holiday" of Halloween. What to many Russians and others around the world may seem like a fun night of kids masks and candy, is indeed an evil day of a vile paganist religion built upon the blood of sacrificial victims. Most people in Russia and in truth, most people in the Anglosphere, do not know anything about this dark day."
And here's the link to the page it came from:
http://english.pravda.ru/topic/holidays-699/
Now I'm pleased to see freedom of speech in repressed Russia, but geez louise I really feel bad now about all those blood sacrifices I had planned for tomorrow night, Pagan that I am!
So all you in the Angloshpere.........do tell...............how much do you know about this dark day?

I wrap them in old rugs and drop them into the bottom of the pit in our local dump. Then according to town tradition we wait for the lightening to strike (we get a lot of storms here!) and light the pit on fire and burn everything away.
I'm not kidding. That's how we handle refuse here in my little boonie town! LOL

There are them that believe in the wrong things,,, How can I teach them if they will not first take off their blinders? I can not make them comprehend if they turn off their minds, for those that reject the truth are deaf to what must be heard.
What can I say they have created a devil that they all worship...

Can we sacrifice the ex-spouses?? Now that would be fun but I am not sure if it is really a sacrifice or not.

LOL. I started laughing when I read the part about the blood sacrifices you had planned. I only planned on doing the dancing under the stars part. I like dancing. I did indeed dance at the bar (local pub). I dressed up as Royal Mom, descendant that I am from the Royal House of Tudor. I have to get my friend to send me a copy of the pics she took. Then I can send you a copy or two. Halloween is a holiday that has some dark origins but phew! Let's have some fun.

hi spark of insanity. I really know little about this dark day
outside of the costumes and the trick and treating, and the ton of candy the kids brought home.I can still see my little girl at four with her sack of candy seated on the floor, and stuffing candy into her mouth.I had to stop her before she got on a sugar high and sailed up to the ceiling. oh my yes and i was all set to go out and do some atrocious blood sacrifices myself, ah all spoiled now he he.
