Oh yeah, you read that right!!It's a very nice for us. Since it's halloween we don't get a lot of calls and we still get to pay double because Nov. 1 is a regular holiday here in the Philippines. We even have time to chat with each other or even walk away from our phones to get something. As for me, I found some time to post here!! Hehe... I need to go to the cemetery after work though but it's ok, I'm just thankful that I'm not in the morning shift because I have time for lots of things. Anybody who here who is in a similar situation? Please share!!

count me in yuna. i actually work the day shift now but the call center i'm working for serves the overnight north american and canadian clients so calls have been sparsed to say the least. it alos helps that we are looking full force so calls get distributed fairly even. gotta love the holidays we have here in the philippines. lol! my canadian boss swears he hasn't experienced as much holidays except here in the philippines. he seems to be enjoying it though. cheers!!!

Lucky you for being to attend to your personal concerns during working hours and still be paid double for doing "holiday work". Your company must be very lenient to allow such a thing but work ethics should come into play considering that you are paid for the hours you are suppose to be working. Well maybe, what your bosses don't know wont hurt them but definitely it might hurt the business. No offense intended but i guess it really depends on your work ethics.

My work is to talk calls. If we're not getting any calls it's too boring. It's either we can chat with each other, or do something online...else we might fall asleep waiting for a call. No the company is not lenient, mostly the supervisors are lenient. As long as we don't do this while we have a call. It's fine.

Hello my friend yuna15 Ji, I fail to understand, why at all people do not enjoy holidays, why to work on such days. On 01-Nov, we both were preparing ourselves to undertake long train journey involving more than 2600 Kms, planning to go to our home-town from our younger son's place. So we too were very busy. May God bless You and have great time.

I can tell you why in my situation. First is because we are required to report for work whether we like it or not, 2nd, I can lose my job I fail to report for work and by the way, I doesn't mean I didn't celebrate the holiday because I reported for work. I still have the rest of the day to celebrate it

Hello my friend yuna15 Ji, So nice of you, I am with your feelings. I understand your feelings about duty. My hubby while in service , left me for un-kown destination during 71 war, while I was under most advanced stage. When everyone celebrates Dewali, he would be on duty with rifle. Still, we do celebrateour happiness in any and all form. May God bless You and have a great time.

haha =D THat's good!! Getting double pay for doing less than twice the amount of work required.. lol =D WHen i was in the F&B industry a couple of years back, i did experience the same thing too, especially during chinese new year.. lol =D Everybody was busy visiting relatives etc, and thus not much ple will be interested in eating out.. And even if they wanna do so, not many malls or eatery will be opened.. haha =D As such, i was able to earn quite alot, doing nothing for the 3 days.. lol =D

I am retired and my time is my own. I enjoy the night time when there aren't alot of people about and I can get so much done. It is so quiet I can concentrate, research without interuption and multi-task as I enjoy doing several things at onece. There are some limitations but not many.

Sounds like a nice change for you after being so busy all the time.I don't work outside the home as being a full time housewife is plenty for me.

when the holiday is approaching, my colleagues and i will pay little attention to the job, for our costomers are in the same situation, all of us are waiting for the coming holidays. just like "working but not working", we are so relaxde that we chat, and laugh. such a happy day before the holidays.
