How about: "The options were crappy."
The last presidential election's options were pretty bad. I didn't even like the write-in candidates. That's my own reason.
Other reasons I've heard from other people is are along the lines of "it won't make a difference", or "I don't care about political stuff".

I think my main reason is I am just to lazy.
To lazy to keep up with what is going on, and
to make a decision on the facts. I should have
a interest, but I just do not. I guess I
really believe my vote will not make a differ-
ence.
Have a great day.

With absentee ballots and early voting, I do not believe anyone should have an excuse for not voting. However, the one I hear the most is "My vote won't matter. Just one vote will not make a difference." These people could not be more wrong. Look at the Minnesota senatorial election. Franken won by just a few votes. It seems like most elections are decided by ever smaller margins. Every vote counts even if nothing but a means of expressing your displeasure with the way things are.

Hi valentinesdiner reasons out my way would be that we here in Gold Crest have various medical conditions that make it hard for us to walk ten or twelve blocks to our voting poll so suggest that the local communities get on the ball and offer rides to those of us that cannot walk that far, or sign us up for absentee ballots. a lot of people here missed voting last year because of where the polls were. I signed up for absentee voting so I c an vote at home.

People don't give me a reason for not voting, because I don't vote. They instead get mad at me for not voting. In my opinion however, you should be well informed about both sides to make an informed decision when voting. I have been old enough to vote for ten years now, and have not yet voted. It isn't because I don't care, it is because I have not felt informed enough to make a valid choice. When the day comes that I feel like I am actually informed enough to make a decision that I feel is absolutely the right one, that is when I will vote, but not until then.

Despite I'm not from US, maybe my opinion is valid for few there too ..
I don't vote. I have, a couple of times (forced, comunism time) and once (free choice, may 1990). Ever since I didn't voted at all.
One serious reason is I was not impressed my none of the contestants. I know my vote count, yet I could not decide which one to vote, up to now none didn't impressed me nor make me belive a word from their campaign ... It is said you should choose the less whorst from all whorst, but none was not "less whorst" by now .. Well .. I am optimistic, one day things may change .. lol
As to mock elections, politics and candidats, I will try to quote George Carlin:
If you vote, you have 2 results: the one you voted wins; the one you voted loose. In second case, you can't rant because according to democracy rules, majority rules, you were not in majority .. In first case, if you become dissappointed (and usually you do) by the one you voted, you can't rant because YOU voted for ..
As I don't vote, I have the freedom to rant in any direction because I simply havn't been involved ..
