In my country the 23rd of December is called "Little Christmas Eve". On that day my family buys the last presents and decorates the christmas tree. It is also my grandmother's birthday, so we always have a party on that day. On the 24th of December we cook the christmas meal and go to chuch in the afternoon. In the evening we eat our christmas meal and open the presents. Sometimes we have another christmas party on the December 25th and that party takes place at my aunt and my uncle's. We eat a christmas meal and play some games. On December 26th we usually eat the last christmas food and then christmas is over (in our family)

Christmas celebrations are more family traditions then anything else each family has a different way of celebrating it. I normally try to set up my Christmas decorations around the beginning of December leave the decorations until the 6th of January. As a child I had the 1 gift at Christmas eve rule but now it depends on who I spend the festivities with, it is around the 2 days but predominately on the 25th.

I celebrate 2. Christmas eve, and Christmas day. This was because once I got married, my husband insisted that me and my daughter be at his family's house at a certain time to open gifts. So at my mom's we started to celebrate Christmas Eve, to have Christmas day with the in-laws. When my mom passed, my daughter and I started a tradition that we'd open 1 gift on Christmas eve in honor of her grandma. Now that I'm divorced, I can do whatever I want, but my daughter and I still do the 1st gift on Christmas Eve.
