I just came to know that I lost my gold bangle which weighed 36gms roughly around 1300$!!! It was a gift from mymother. I have no idea how i lost it. It has a sentimental value and it is expensive too. the bangle was passed on to me from my mother which she got from her mother. Again, granny got it from her mother!!!..I am very sad about the loss and how much ever I try to distract myself, only it comes to my mind. Not to mention the shocker I am to get when I say about it to my family!!!

I've lost somethings precious. And they sound more precious in ratio to what I make. When I lose stuff, I cry. I give up hope. I try to blaspheme a bit in search to find out what went wrong. But then I give up giving up. Wipe my tears, save up, and this times to stuff in more precious than before and handled with greater care. It takes a fall to learn some valuable dusting skills. Take care.

bangle - a bangle--the hereditary treasure in the family.
I am so sad to hear that because I have lost some valuable gifts from my girlfriend before. As you have said above, the bangle should be the hereditary treasure in your family, so it is a priceless treasure for you and your family. In my opinion, at first, you should try your best to find it out. Don't lose your courage and perhaps it is just in somewhere in your house or some places else. If you can't find it, then perhaps you should buy one as a substitute. Although it is not a wise action, it may be the only choice to do. Hope you can find the bangle as soon as possible. Wish you success.

Oh my, that is such a big loss. I do hope that you will be able to find it, if you have daughters try to ask if they might have borrowed it and forgot to return it. I do this sometimes when I feel that my pieces of jewelry don't look good with what I am wearing for a formal event or affair. You could try to have a copy made, but it will never be equal to the one you lost.

Yes I know how gold prices have increased. I bought a pair of earrings six months ago, and now I am being given something smaller than the earring I bought for the same price! It is a good investment though, and if you do have another bracelet made, make sure to keep it in your jewelry box!

hi anne, I do not share jewellery. I live in one place where we have no relatives. I have no daughters either. To make another one like that, I simply cant afford it!!! It was too expensive. But I have the same design and one day I will get a duplicate made I have already started accumulating money to buy a piece. Gold has become very expensive.

I first lost an expensive item when I was in class two. I was wearing my elder sister's emerald studded ear ring. I had borrowed it for a few days. My mohter was visitingher friends and I went running from our house to that aunty's house and lost one set by the time I reached there. But after extensive search, my mother found it and I was punished by not letting to use any valuable jewellery for years. Now I lost this, I dont want to hear and see my mother's reaction!!! she is visiting me in a week...:((((

Hi malpoa, I am not going to say u deserve to be spanked. :) Nor am I going to tell u that it would over generations get an antique value, or it held some blessings for u. U will hear plenty of that from others. I am just going to say, look carefully, may be u will find it in some unusual place. And I am going to say, look after other family heirlooms. And repeat what one of my dear friend who is no more told me, if u lose any monies, dont grieve. Think god has taken it away from u now for sometime in future when u will genuinely need it. It will come to u, when u need it the most.

OMG how did this happen? Losing gold is thought of as bad omen so you better be careful. I don’t exactly remember when was the last time I lost something precious as I don’t own any precious item which can be carried…hmmm….yes, I lost a ring which was actually a wedding gift from my maternal uncle. It was a size bigger and I used to wrap threads around it to make it tighter but just somehow it slipped off! Well I was sad but by nature I am not too caring about my own possessions. So it was OK…its gone so its gone. I have not bought another new ring…a lesson to myself LOL

It is real sad to know that you have lost an expensive gold bangle which your mother has given to you. I can understand it is real sad moment for a women when she loose gold items. I remember when my wife lost gold she cried for many days. But the thing is that which has gone is gone and you must take extra precaution in future days.

hmm you are right. it is gone I what is the point in crying over spilled milk. Again you are right that women have an inclination towards gold and we only want to increase our collection!!! i have become alert and now I am extra cautious while using gold and while keeping back in locker. Prevention is better than cure, I learned it from experience oh man...it is very difficult to get over this!!!:(

Really sorry to note that you have lost a valuable bangle. With the prices of gold going up, it is quite difficult to digest this loss. Particularly, since it is an old pieces, the sentimental value will be quite high. I hope you will find the bangle, I do not think it will disappear just like that into thin air.

Since my parents' house was one of those affected by the recent flood here in the Philippines, I can say that we have lost a long list of expensive items. There's no way to deal with it but philosophically. At least, we and all our relatives and friends are still alive and we didn't lose everything. I have more trouble with sentimental items than expensive ones. For instance, I lost my portfolio of published works in this terrible flood and that just really sucks. :(

I'm sorry to hear that. Your gold bangle is expensive and has sentimental value. I can imagine how sad you are. Next time you should be more careful and prevent losing expensive items again. Good luck!

Hi Malpoa, maybe it will yet turn up somewhere in the house, if not I'm sorry that you lost it. You should report it to the insurance company but that will only return the monetary value and not the sentimental value. I've never lost anything expensive.

lucky you thea. and this is the first time i lost something expensive, about sentimental things, there were enough people to steal or take things away from me. the bad thing is that i havent insured it. if it is gone then it is gone for ever. but i wonder why anyone will only take that!!! it wasnt definitely left alone somewhere...it surehad company...i expect to find it atleast some time later...

Sorry to hear from u a sad news, but everything is dependent on god, actually we'll think of it for some hours or days or weeks,as the days pass on we won't remember it,so i feel rather than thinking the lost item we better not to think of it is the better option.

Sorry to hear that news. we all don't like to lose something useful and expensive. But i believe that when we lose something, we will gain something. Sometimes it is visible to see what we lose or gain but someimes it is invisible. So i believe that don't feel so sad about it. Maybe you can gain more from it inother ways. Now you haven't know what you have gained, but in future, you'll sure find. I think your family will not put blame on you for that thing.Take it easy. Have a nive day!

The good news is that I havent told my mother or sisters yet. Ofcourse it is better to avoid their scolding and accusations. hmm I plan to lie if they ever ask about it about amade up locker. Is that a horrible lie to start with...I dont know my brain isnt working!!! I hope I get it back... I did think about newton's law yesterday!! nothing is lost form the universe, a loss here is a gain there...how ironic!!! that didnt pacify me
