Are All People Immediately Suspicious?

I saw a discussion on here, where a Mylotter didn't know whether to undertake a large project, because of costs. At the time, the TV was on, and I was vaguely watching a programme about people who have made money, and in fact massive businesses out of doing such projects. Now, I'm an ideas person - and if an idea pops into my head that I can't utilise, I give it away: I might as well, if it isn't going to do me any good, right? Well, an idea just immediately popped into my head, and it was unique - I checked, and nothing like it's been done before. So I didn't want to put it into the post, incase somebody else thought they would do it instead, so asked if I could PM her. Now, I'm thinking that she thinks I'm scamming her, or trying to get something out of her, whereas the truth is, I was going to give her the idea, then let her decide whether it would work for her or not. I can't help thinking she's kind of shot herself in the foot a bit - at some point, someone is going to be genuinely trying to do something for her, and she's going to be suspicious, and lose out on it, and I also feel kind of offended! Although I'm trying to talk myself out of that, because I do appreciate she doesn't know me. So are all people this suspicious? Should I get selfish and stop trying to help people?

Even those who are close to us sometimes take us for a spin and coming from a forum member just like that and that too a money spinner what else can one expect it to be but spamming!! You could be genuine and it seems you are but approaches like these are generally not viewed without suspicion! Hope she/he will have second thoughts and get back to you asking for more details (lol)!

Hi, Allknowing! Yeah, I appreciate that, but as Judith said, and as I had thought, she could have just deleted the PM? Ha! Well she'd be too late! I told my friend about the idea, she got really excited, and we've decided we're going to do it together, and get rich instead! Hee hee!

Hmmm... I'll let you know the details when they make a documentary about the millions we made from nothing, and you can tune in and watch it! Lol!

That would be great and so unselfish of you! Sadly, I had a house with tons of problems....I don't have it anymore, problem solved!! But if you come up with something really great & need a guinea pig, I'll volunteer!!

Lol! Thanks, Mzz! It would only work for you if you had a house with problems. And it's not rocket science - you could get everything paid for, seriously! My friend and I are planning to buy at auction at the end of next year, so hopefully nobody has done it by then! But if I come up with an idea for you, I'll defo let you know! Lol!

you can't control how someone is going to react to you or your ideas. try to help others only if you have proof it is legitimate. if they don't respond, you can't do anything even though you were sincere. i believe most people are suspicious in this world we live in.

Hi, Clocks! Thanks for your response! Yeah, it's legitimate, I didn't get it from anywhere - it's my own idea. But it's going to work out for the best: I'll just keep it for myself! Lol!

There is a time in an individual's personal development when they learn to trust or not to trust others - - like when a baby cries and can trust taht someone is there to care for them or when you can rely on someone's word. Too many people grow up without the ability to trust because they are given to see the world as negative and untrustworthy. Sorry you are meeting more people like that.

Hi, Valentine! Thanks for your comment! Yeah, You're right. I think it's just that I'm a genuine person, and hate to think somebody is going to think otherwise just off the cuff like that, but I probably shouldn't take it too personally. I won't be so quick to offer in future though! Lol!

no to selfish but yes to help people . just help rabbits instead. sounds like this person may be oversuspicious - she can find out very quickly if you are a scammer by looking at the pm.

Lol! But only little blue lettuce munchers! Well, yeah, that's what I thought! Give her the idea, if she doesn't like it, fine. I think I might limit myself to only giving ideas to people who already know me in future! Thanks, J

Hi Louc74, interesting read there. Yeah, to say most people are immediately suspicious isn't far too off, cause in reality who would want to give help for free ? These tend to pop up into many peoples minds, but in mylot there are many people trying to help out one another free so I like mylot.

Hi, Red. You know, I watched something the other night which said that if you're immediately suspicious, you're actually more likely to be ripped off? It's because the other person will say something which makes you feel guilty for having been suspicious to begin with, then you're more likely to believe what they say after that. I'll stick to giving my brainstorms to people who know me in future though! Lol!
