How do you dance

So what type of dancing can you do or have you tried? I myself have done only dancing in the club, whatever you call it. Oh and I think I did square dancing like in 5th grade. What about you? Do you have any funny stories of making a fool of yourself learning how to do a certain dance or a friend maybe. I need a good laugh!

My body just moves to the music, where ever it wants to go. I dance basically the same now as I did over forty years ago. I always found it to be good exercise and better than sitting around in a dark corner with a boy when I should not be.

I tried social dances like cha-cha and waltz. I also hip hop but I am more on cheerdance moves. But I don't like the lifting parts...oh well... I remember the time when I fall badly from a lift. Only two men hold both my feet and I am standing gracefully on top. Ohh, that was so embarassing. Yet, that kind of lift is still used nowadays even if it is too dangerous (well, for me yeah). But it do help me gain trust with my fellow dancers and to myself, too. Overall, I love dancing!!!

Very interesting. I am glad you were not to hurt in this fall, I am sure your pride suffered the most.

I've done ballet, gymnastics, and now I mainly do hip hop and modern dance--contemporary and 'release' technique style. I've done many shows (it's impossible not to; shows are considered essential to a dancer's repitoire!), and the most embarrassing situation I've had (thankfully) was when my group went up onto the stage without solid choreography, and everyone was either off or staring at the front row (which consisted of 2 people, one of which was me), doing different things. We had a fullhouse. The applause was rather quite for that one too. But we made it up to the audience with our next dance; I don't think everyone checked the program-- we weren't the group who messed up majorly, we were the group who had a standing ovation with a messup in the beginning!

When I was about 10 years old, my father brought whole family to his work's christmas party. It wasn't like one of those parties you see in a club but more of a formal work party. I saw one couple dancing "argentine tango" in the middle of the dance floor & I couldn't take my eyes off of them. My father saw me watching them & when we got home, he asked me if I wanted to learn. So I said yes & I've been doing it ever since. At first, my parents taught me how to do the basic steps & few weeks later, they got me into a class. Of course me being only 10 years old, I was the youngest & apparently the shortest one in the class. When the teacher paired me up with this lady for practice, I must have dropped her on few times & it looked like "mom walking a son". Thing about argentine tango is that it's very male dominate. He has to do all the leading & all the work. Kindda hard to do when I'm little over a foot shorter than my female partner & can barely hold my own school bag up let alone try to "dip" a 130lb woman & spin her around. Thank goodness she was so patient with me & at the end, she actually complimented me for wanting to learn something that most other young kids won't.

Very interesting I would love to see you do the argentine tango! And that would be cute seeing a young boy learning a dance like that too.

I saw Shakira in one of her concerts doing the tango and belly dancing. How I wish I could do that! In our gym class, they also start to offer belly dancing class so I joined. Oh boy, I thought it was so easy. It's like doing deep breathing while you sway your hips clockwise and back. But, it's a good exercise to have a flat tummy.

I dances as no one is watching me!!!! It's not like that I can't dance, but I dance to get joy from it, so I never care who is watching!!!!!!!!!
