How old were you when you first wore a bra?

I estimate that, if I stop exercising and dieting, I will need a bra for my moobies by the time I'm 70, but so far, so good. Lash

I was probably about 13. My older daughter was 11. They say kids develop earlier due to growth hormones in the meat and milk. That's why I switched to organic. Hopefully my younger daughter will develop a bit later.

Well for me I really don't remember to tell you the truth!! But I do remember that by the age of I think I was 11 yrs old I was wearing one already. I was a little chunky by that age but not too much. So I guess they were growing too. LOL!!! Now I am a c-cup and proud of my puppies!! LOL!!! Well you know what i mean they really aren't puppies. I was nine or ten when I first started wearing a bra. I was flat as an ironing board, and all of a sudden I was a B cup! It was so hard for me because none of the girls my age were as developed. That was the 70's though. Today is an entirely different story and the early development of girls is as much genetics as it is the hormones and chemicals being added to all our food. Estrogen is probably the most common hormone being used today to increase the size of the animals used for human consumption. Since we ARE what we eat, it stands to reason that when we feed our children that nice big juicy chicken thigh that was made so big my estrogen, that hormone goes directly into the children's system. Of course their bodies react to it as the normal signal to enter into puberty or prepubescence. Never mind that the child is five, six, seven, eight. Estrogen in foods is also what causes boys to develop mammaries, even when they may not be so over weight. Something to really thing about isn't it?

wow thats crazy. i think i was maybe 13-14 when i 1st wore i proper bra, and even then it wasn't n e thing bigger than and A. now a days kids are forming way too early... its all the hormones added to the food. i'm from england orginally and when i was growing up there wasnt big children... its like youngs girls starting their periods earlier and earlier. its crazy... we need to consum more organic and natural foods

Though I've seen kids who might need a bra at 8, I haven't come across anyone who really wears them at that age. I had my first real bra when I was 15 or so. My mom gave me a sports bra when I was around 13. I had just started developing and don't think I would have got a proper bra at that age ( a size that would fit me, I mean). I had a classmate when I was 13 who needed (and wore) a real bra. We all were in awe of her...lol. She did look much older than we were (around 16-17 atleast)....and we all would wonder how it felt to be wearing a bra (a few of us had just started wearing a bra around that time while she had been wearing it for a year or two by then).

I dunno exactly what age but I'd say round 11-12yrs old forsure. Even though one does not have a substantial amount one starts wearing a training or jog bra to get used to the monstrosity of a real bra.

I believe I was nine years old when I first wore a bra. Now I was not a C cup though! I did not become a C cup until high school.

I was 9, I think. I know that it was in the fourth grade. I developed early.

oh you are a tomboy when you were a teen,how old are you now? i am curious, is that mean you wear bra at the early age however stop or didn't start wearing bra when you were 17? how come?

Hi jelly, I'm pretty sure I was the same age as your niece, though I wasn't no C cup! LOL I did have to wear a training bra around that age though. I was so embarrassed! LOL I hated the thought of having to wear one and here I wasn't even a tomboy. However, I was very shy about the whole thing. I don't remember when I blossomed fully, but it must have been some time in junior high (12 years old, maybe sooner). At least I noticed it more then anyway, because I had to change for gym class. UGH! The darn things were always getting in the way, especially when I had to run the mile. They don't bother me so much now though. And heck, even my hubby likes 'em, so I can't complain. oh I was 30. no, just kidding. I was like I think maybe 11. I didn't need it as I was just this miniature little girl. My mother insisted that I wear it. Oh I hated it so much. 8 is really pretty young but if she needs it then she should. My oldest daughter started developing at age 9 and had to start wearing a bra. My other girls were all ll and 12.

C cup for an 8 year old? that is too big for a little girl. i thought most kids are starting to wear bras as young as 11. i started wearing a bra about the right time--in junior high--about 13. but my boobs were normal for my age, like about 32AA.

i wore my first bra when i was in my second year high school, i am not so boobsy that is why i wear my bra late.

Well I think I was 11 or 12 when i started wearing one on days i had gym at school and not 14 until i started wearing one everyday but every girl is different if she is developing early she should certainly start wearing a bra also sometimes with younger ones bras are just used bc certain shirts can look a little bad if her nipples might show a lot. Maybe 8 is a little young though but it really just depends on her development. Maybe she wanted one because a friend had one or her mom just decided it was time. Just some ideas.
