I only cook from scratch because it is 10 times cheaper than dinners made by someone else. I would buy some cheap meat, a couple of onions, two carrots, some small potatoes, a can of natural tomato paste. I´d make a casserole with that. You can serve rice on the side. Have a salad (check which veggie is the cheapest at the market. That is a wonderful meal and it is not that expensive.Check if chicken or turkey are cheaper and then you can use it instead of red meat (turkey thighs are not that expensive and can bit cut in bit size). I hope this helps. Have a nice day!

I think if you want to feed a family of 5 for under $10.00 it would be wise to of things like casseroles or pastas. I would likely make a spaghetti dinner. I could get a box of pasta for under a $1.50, a 1lb package of ground beef for $4.00 or less and a large jar of jarred past sauce for around $2.50. That would leave me a couple of dollars for some parmasan cheese, I could get it at the deli and get just enough that I would not go over the $10. Or I could make my Tuna noodle casserole bag of noodles $1.50, can of tuna $1, can of cream of mushroom soup $1.00, shredded cheddar $2.50, milk $1.99 whole bottle all of it not needed, margarine (whole package all of it not needed) $1.00, salt and pepper. 1 can of veggies. Yummy and really cheap. Or one pound of ground beef mixed with 1 or 2 boxes of Kraft macaroni and cheese. and a can of peas.

Hello Debbie and welcome to my lot. Well with 10 bucks you could buy hamburger and maybe some potatoes and make meat loaf and some kind of potatoes. Or spaghetti or hamburgers. I don't know more then that I get stumped when it comes to planning dinner. I hope this helps you. Have a great day!

I'd go for hamburgers and fresh vegs, like chard or chicory, they are normally inexpensive and you can just throw them in the pan with some oil and let them cool up a bit, still being crunchy, I love them that way.
