When I was a kid, I used to play a lot on the streets. I used to play patintero, piko, taguan, habulan, langit lupa, siato and taguang tsinelas. I remember always enjoying playing those games. Nowadays, I don't see kids that much anymore playing those games. They're usually inside playing video games. I remember pretending to sleep at noontime when all I can think about is playing in the afternoon. I really miss being a kid. Eating junk food like pompoms, chippy, sweet corn and buying plastic balloon haha!!! I also remember playing paper dolls. There were also those bunutan thingies on sari-sari stores wherein you can win 20 pesos! Haha :)) Never won though. Haaa... being a kid was such a fun experience. How about you guys? Do you remember these stuff? What do you remember of your childhood?

Yah! i do the same, i pretend im asleep so that i can play in the afternoon. My parents have a rule that if we don't sleep at noontime, we are not allowed to go outside and play. I also remember the times when we always go to Mc Donald's ATC during weekends...missed that place! If i ever have a child, i will definitely ban computer games in our house. I want my kids to play active games or play sports in general.

Nope! we used to live in Bacoor, Cavite and at that time McDonald's ATC is the nearest chain in our house. My Parent's would drop us at McDonald's with our yaya while they do their shopping. We do that almost every weekend...those are the happy times!

Being a kid is one of the most important stage in our lives. I have experienced to play all you have mentioned but not that much though. My mom wouldn't allow me to play with other kids since they pretty much older than me, about 5 years gap. So I used to play with my 2 other sisters. We played chinese garter too and luksong lubid. And its really great to play in the rain! I remember when we were kids, we have a dining set toy which includes pots, plates and forks. We used to get leaves from our garden play luto-lutuan. I used to climb "aratiles" before. Even if it rains, and the trunk of the tree is slippery, i still climb on it, and end up hitting my butt! lol! What's paper dolls? The only doll i know when i was a kid is barbie. And we have lots of them! Even had it in the room for display.

Hi yan_blue8! Paper dolls are literally dolls made out of paper. Even their dresses are made of paper. You just stick it to the doll that's shaped like a girl and has a face. Haha! Sorry for such a poor description but yeah, Barbie was also something I used to play with... or rather, murder. Haha! I used to cut Barbie's hair until she was bald. Haha.

I am an only child, so I basically experienced those moments when I play alone. I played with paper dolls and talk with my teddy bears and stuff. I know, it sucks. Haha. But tell you what, I have plenty of cousins in my mother's side, so I wasn't a complete loner while growing up. And besides, I have plenty of playmates at school too. Lucky me, huh. Haha. Like you, I used to play those outdoor-kind-of-games like patintero, piko, taguan, langit lupa, sili sili, nanay tatay, bahay-bahayan, chinese garter, 20-20, jack stone and a whole lot more. We really played till our bodies get tired. I even remembered sneaking out of school during lunch break to go to a peryahan, where I take home extra money to keep in my piggy bank. Haha. Oh well, childhood really brings back a lot of memories. I had a very great time. Take care! :)

Thanks for your response. Perya!!! Fun times. Haha :)) Whenever I go to Bulacan during fiesta, I always went to the perya to play the "color game." Those blocks with different colors on them. Haha! I also used to throw 25centavos and always went home with a bottle of vinegar.

Hi! I remember all of my childhood and I wouldn't and will not forget it. These are the most wonderful years of a man's life and we musn't forget them. I remember the games with my friends- Hide and Seek, football, the camps and so on. We gathered every night out on the street, made a fireplace and backed patatoes. Maybe many of you wil say it's stupid to make a fireplace on the street but we livein Bulgaria and everything here is possible :)). For us it was very entertaining and we made it every night. The days at the school were also very entertaining- the pauses, the games in the school yard- everything was so childish and innocent.

Hi nautilus33! Thanks for your response. Bonfires on street? Stupid? No way! That's really cool... I used to build bonfires aswell when I was a kid but only when I'm camping because it's really hot here, especially in the city where I live. Thanks for sharing!

I remember you can buy 5 lemon candies with 5 centavos. My usual snack in school was a bottle of coke, chiz curls and sandwich which cost me 1 peso

hahahahaha! can i just say I can so relate to your message? I did all those!I miss being a kid again. and yes, i must agree. Now, the games of kids are so sedentary. It would be great of they can experience our pinoy games also. I even remember playing jackstones with exhibitions at our school hallway and 10-20 outside after school

Me too I used to play a lot on the streets when I was young. Even if my Mother always scolded me because I'm always away and she can't find me everytime she calling me to gets home. Being a kids I think is the most memorable moment of our life.

hi kareendj, childhood was really enjoying, you will not be thinking the way you are thinking now I mean, during those day, all you want to do is have fun and enjoy and that is by playing either alone or with your friends, when I was still a young kid, I'm also fond of playing in the streets, habulan, taguan, tumbang preso, base to base, flying kites, swimming in nearby rivers, naninirador ng kalangay, catching fish during floods, gagamba, baraha, pabunot, raising pigeons, bicycle, basketball and a lot more, games, activities, name it, I've been through it, it was really fun but as I grew older, those activities drops one by one since it was replaced by more productive, serious and challenging games and activites I'm busy at right now, neway those were the days, it's really fun.
