mac is definitely better compare to pc. mac is best of both worlds, you won't miss your pc if you buy a mac because you also have the option of installing a legitimate windows xp on your mac at the same time enjoying the powerful features of mac osx.

You definately can't say the MAC is the best in the world. That is a FACT !!! If you do own a mac you will know that installing windows on to MAC will make the MAC overload thus making it extremely hot in no time. I still don't get why you would buy a MAC to play XP on it as it cost a lot more for nothing.

lol, read again friend, I didn't say Mac is the best in the "World", I said "best of both world", you can enjoy mac os and windows on the same machine, "best of both worlds" is an english idiom, you don't take it literally, hope that clears, Also, when you switch to mac, some of your favorite windows software might not be available for mac so nothing to worry because there is this option that you can install windows on your mac so that you can still enjoy your favorite windows software, and that is only an option, you can install windows if you want, it's your freedom, and it's one feature of mac and you are free not to use that feature. peace!

I'd say it's up to what you are going to use them for. Of course for the value of money a PC would be considered a lot cheaper as you know macintosh style they will always go for thei uniqueness and thus lose in the market. Though Macs have very good screens so mostly people who do graphic design tend to go for them. As a computer engineer, I'd say it varies for the users, if you are willing to pay more for the MAC OS then go for it. If not then I advise you to go for a normal PC.

i think it comes down to your personality. I think Mac is very very user friendly, but this also means it's hard to tweak and adjust things if you like to do that stuff. Pc is pretty bad for art and music so Mac has it's benifits too. And i think the biggest factor is what you're used to, "Macheads" just don't seem to like pc and vice versa. Personnally, I'm gonna stick to pc because thats what i'm used to.

You know what, neither is better then the other, it's all about personal preferences. I for one own both, I use my MAC for video editing, music, and art, and OS is a lot more stable then Windows. BUT PC is a better platform for everything else, namely Gaming... Customizing... they say MAC hardly has any software for it but people forget that now you CAN get Windows for mac, and in doing so you can run a lot of windows based programs, but even before that, a lot of mac users had emulated PC for mac and the really smart ones who understand Unix knows that OS X has alot of Unixy goodness that if you were Unix Savy, you can get any program to run on a Mac. The architecture of a MAC was specifically made around Movies,Art,and Music software. All these programs tend to run quicker, faster, and better on a MAC, where as on a PC it would chug along and take hours to render. I know because I have both my old MAC Book running Adobe CS3 with no hitches and on my PC witch is a custom build monster of a gaming machine stutters at the sight of a 10Meg PSD file wanting to be edited. But My PC can run Gears of war at Max with no problems. In the end it's all what you use it for, I find that people just going to college and don't have gaming in their mind Love getting a Macbook or something similar because it fits their needs and honestly. I can say I've never had OS X BSOD on me and as well as if a program stops working dosen't make the OS stop working... Windows has that problem... But my mac can't game like my PC.

I would love to have a mac, but for all practical reasons, I would stick with a PC. I have more software available that too easily on the PC. Also, there are more people around to help me service my system if it is a PC than a Mac. So despite personal preference to Mac, on all other practical accounts it is the PC. Cheers! Ram

PC, hands down. I don't like Macs. I hate when some old program is not compatable with windows. I'd pull my hair out if I'd use Mac.

I don't get the fascination wit Macs. I've heard it's the best option for graphic designers but can't think of why would average folks want it? Is it some kind of hipster thing? Because they look pretty? They are sure expensive as hell. please explain

I have used both MAC and PC. MAC is really amazing. They are pretty sleek, cool, stable and powerful. Apple has refreshed every Mac-book in its lineup with newer and better hardware. Everything from their processor to graphics card is good. So there lot more reasons to buy a MAC. But I like a PC. I have been using PC from my childhood. I have learned everything in a PC. All softwares I work on run in PC also and I really liked Vista a lot irrespective of many types of feedbacks. So I would definitely think a lot before becoming a Machead.
