I just watched Waters of Mars! Who else has seen it? We don't want to spoil it for those who HAVEN'T seen it yet - PLEASE! But IF you have seen it - what did you THINK? Were you AWESTRUCK? How about those effects? the make-up? I want to share feelings, but ONLY if we don't spoil it for those who haven't - and WON'T - get to see it until next month! And the change in the Doctor? Was it believable to you?

Hi ElicBxn, I got to see it last weekend when it was shown here. I have to say I liked it a lot more than the Easter special. There were some more clues in it regarding the Christmas special which was good. I know what you mean with the change in the Doctor, it was totally out of character but I think it did work well for the upcoming specials. I liked the look of the next time trailers for the Christmas specials. Also they showed a full three minutes of the Christmas episodes on children in need on Friday, it is on youtube if you want to check it out.

cool!!! I'll share that with the roomie! I'm not sure if it were totally out of character, but it does seem that he did rather take control of his life, something I don't think he's done a whole lot lately

I've not seen the episode yet, but there was a program on recently about the making of it which was very interesting. They showed how they made the makeup and how they arranged for the water to come out in the right places as well as showing the place where they shot the Mars surface scenes - in a quarry which happened to have red stone. There was also sequences of the meetings were they decided how to best do things.

It's on BBC now, but unfortunately it clashes with another prog. that I want to see which is on another BBC channel - great programming BBC! I'll look forward to seeing the Christmas episodes.

Christmas will have a 2 parter and that will be Tennant's last one. I guessed it was another quarry - but with red rocks and not a filter - COOL! I could see the mat painting for when he was looking at the Mars base, but not because it wasn't a great one, it was, just I knew it was one

I think as we get out there into space we are going to find that space is 'lousy' with water. The moon has the wet stuff too! * There are a lot of fuzz balls flying around we call comets, meteors, or just plain ice balls with tails full of vapor that have water in them. They land on rocks, planets, moons, what have you. There is also panspermia going on. * http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panspermia * Panspermia (Greek: pa?spe?µ?a from p??/p?? (pas/pan) "all" and sp??µa (sperma) "seed") is the hypothesis that "seeds" of life exist already all over the Universe, that life on Earth may have originated through these "seeds", and that they may deliver or have delivered life to other habitable bodies. * Life has been described as a galactic common cold. Once one planet catches it in the Universal classroom, they (the planets, moons, whatever) all catch it like toddlers in a nursery!

Okay, I haven't seen the waters of Mars. Is it a sci-fi? It sounds interesting. I assume that you are talking about Doctor Who, right? Unfortunately I haven't found a channel this season that is carrying it.

yes, its Doctor Who, and hence, its science fiction, I think Syfy should be carrying it - if not Syfy, then BBC-America it just showed in England this weekend

I thought this was a great special. The Doctor deals with the inevitability of certain events, and then says screw you, I AM a Time Lord! It was so huge when he changed his mind to try and save the day. The ending was bitter sweet, and really showed why the Doctor needs a companion.

See, now I LIKE that the Doctor is willing to do things like that - its probably the one thing I've ever had a problem with these new Doctor Who's But then again, I love time travel and LOVE paradoxes!

I've never even heard of it, much less seen Waters of Mars. Not much of a movie buff or tv unless it's in the local video store. Even then, I don't rent many movies.
