People can Die in Boxing...

Hello Mylotters, Well, it's true that people can die in boxing and it's risky when you are fighting and all of the sudden you get knock out, and taken to a hospital. Just like one of the pinoy boxers who won the recent fight besides manny pacman pacquiao, although that boxer is stable now, i doubt he can go back to the ring. well, it's better that way than Death, what's the worth of victory if the person dies in it. That's a normal risk for boxers. but what about the viewers? are you kidding me?! they can die too?! Yes, mylotters does who doesn't live in the Philippines, ten people..i mean ten viewers who were watching the recent Manny-Cotto fight died of Heart Attack. last year, people died because they were betting either on Pacman or hatton, now it's simply because they were watching the fight. I think the network should have it's own PG for the old people, i mean wow, you can't just blame tv for their deaths nor the fights of this popular boxer. If you have an old relative in your house or watching in free tv screens, i suggest you keep an eye on him or her because you may never know what could happen.

hello fiazio It is risky and news indicates that no one is safe from this sport most specially their head even though they have actually put head protection, it could still affect your head. unfortunately for that boxer, i saw that fight and his opponent was a lot bigger than him, sometimes i even quesioned the weight factor in this fight.

yeah you are right, oldies get carried away with the fights of manny pacquiao, they become too emotional when manny fights on the ring, they could feel it in their heart that they wanted to win their bet, that is why they had a heart attack afterwards.

Hi Letran, I actually couldn't believe this one until I watched the evening news last night. I mean, maybe one or two old people can be believable, but 10, at varying ages, that's way over the top! Amazingly, it's true! I wonder how the bereaved family felt, losing their loved ones just because they watched Manny Pacquiao. Isn't it ironic? Manny Pacquiao always does his best to give every Filipino pride and happiness, but some die because of the same reason.

And about the bet. Yesterday I was in a police station to file a complaint on behalf of the company I worked for. Suddenly one person entered the room, he was black and blue with bruises on the forehead, face and arms. He said he's going to make a complaint against his co-worker who assaulted him. And why? Because he made a bet with this person on the Pacquiao-Coto fight, he was for Manny and his co-worker was for Cotto. The bet was if Manny won, his co-worker will give him Php1000, but if it's Cotto, he will pay his co-worker Php3000. As we all know, Manny won, When he collected his winnings from this co-worker, the latter refused to pay and had beat him until he can barely run to the precinct to complain. This is both a funny and sad side-story of Manny's victory.

It's very possible to die from boxing with all the trauma to the head, most especially. Some would that that dying from watching boxing is funny. A friend of mine thought I was joking when I heard of the heart attack thing in the news, too, about viewers getting heart attacks watching the match. It's sad but sometimes people get so emotional that it overwhelms them.

I concur, boxing is a hard way to earn a living just like what happened recently to one of our boxer named Z Gorres, who is coma right now. Boxing fanatic also may get into danger if happened to have a health problem like heart desease or high pertension. But what should we do if there's a Manny Pacquiao in our way...hehe God Bless us all...

It is truly a dangerous sport. People come to this sports with a passion and for fame and money. I love watching boxing. I don't want any living things to suffer, but still this is really interesting to watch. If you are watching a boxing match on television from your home, if you can't stand the stress you have immediately switch the set off. That is it.

hello there, unfortunately that is not the reason or they didn't go to free view screens just to leave or simply turn off the television, first, it's live and it's only once in a life time that they see fights like these. i don't the old peopel can be convince that they should turn off their tv or leave theater if they think they're getting the heart attack

You are right my friend! I hope this would serve as a lesson to all people who had an young & old reletives with heart problem to watch them closely specially if they get to excited or to happy so that they can prevent/warn them about their health. And I think you are right that tv station should have a warning advisory to people with health problems when watching this kind of entertainment. But for now let's pray for their soul atleast they left the earth with a happy heart, with a smile in their faces. I hope Pacquiao can visit them to give honor for supporting him. God Bless!

It isn't only limited to those who are watching the fight but also the fighters as well. In a report days ago, Z Gorres just had a blood clot after the fight. It's sad because he won the fight in unanimous decision yet he fall down after his name was announced. He's lucky that he now recovers the experience but it was terrifying. Fighters do risk their lives in the ring.

It's true that people die in boxing and that is why it is the most dangerous of all sports. I don't get it on why a lot of people are into that kind of sports even though they knew the risk of it. I never watch boxing except when it comes to Manny Pacquiao because of the pride he brings to us Filipinos.

hello there gurl, me too, i only watch manny but only when the fight is over. and just watch the replays. just like the fight itself, because i was actually mylotting when they were actually watching it live. it's easy to determine if he has win, i would hear shouts and chanting all over the streets. my mom is so talkative when it comes to this event

Hie letranknight. Life is so precious just to lose in watching the boxing sport. That's why I no longer watch boxing ever since I saw the dela Hoya- pacman bout. When I saw bloods gushing forth from dela Hoya I could not stand looking at him like that. I think boxers are just there for the money without concern or care for their opponents. And they even prayed to God for them to win?? It is a shame for boxer praying to God in order for him to win while punishing his opponent. God cannot be mocked. God does not like this kind of amusement.

boxing - Boxing is a kind of sport full of dangers in and out of the area.
It is common that there are some people may die in boxing, but I have never heared that people who were watching the boxing in front of TV may die too. It is well known that boxing is a job full of dangers and unknown incidents. So, many boxers die during their competition. For people who have various health problems, it is dangerous too because the boxing may cause some serious problems for the viewers, which is fearful indeed. So, for the old or people who have some diseases, it is wise to keep away from the boxing boxing television program.

hello getbrowser, i just can't believed this actually happens.there's no way old people will be forbid of watching the fight since most are also gambling on this fight and they will. the only solution there is to have doctors on the viewing screens or have the house ready set to have their older viewers ready for hospital in case something happens.
