before, i used to enjoy posting unlimited on mylot during my office breaks, but now the IT blocked it and thus have prevented from earning e few dollars more which could somehow help me financially. I cannot post at home since we no longer have computer. I just hope I can purchase a laptop through credit. Have a nice day and happy mylotting!

That's a bummer.....how did you get this post through? Before the actual blocking? Hopefully you'll still find a way to post a bit! Otherwise we would all miss you!

Our IT department hasn't caught on mylot yet. So far, they have blocked all other social networking sites from our desktop terminals. So, I post and respond to discussions during my breaks, or when I am bored. Hopefully, they don't block it, as this is my form of relaxation in busy and stressful day at work.

Mylot helps me in reducing my stress as well. It gives me a break from my monotonous work. It is a great site to hang around and also earn a little.

Too bad for you that the IT department blocked your only hobby for interaction through online. I also agree with you that MyLot is on of the best community around that provides a lot of interesting discussions. Plus they also have the earning opportunity that you can generate extra money online. If I we're you, I would try to spend on a personal laptop and consider it as an investment.

A lot of businesses block MyLot and other sites. They either think of them as time wasters or they feel that they may bring viruses into the office.

Office break or not, technically you were posting on MyLot on the company's time and on the company's computers, so yeah, I can see why it was blocked. I hate to be the devil's advocate, but I have to side with the IT. Hopefully you'll be able to get a laptop before too much longer.

Oh my! I really don’t know why the management is so mean! I mean we are working our butts off and they grudge us a few minutes of relaxation! Many offices though have the policy of blocking facebook, myspace etc (previously it was orkut) as these sites are definitely addictive and spread like wildfire amongst the employees. Even the girl who’s sitting beside me right now is always on facebook playing games and chatting with her friends and also other office colleagues! Mylot I don’t think is spread that much so kind of feeling very sorry for you…in my office, I’m the only person on mylot but like you, I dread the day the management will suddenly stop access to facebook and myspace and poor mylot will be included too, for no fault of it.

Many use computer internet to surf these earning sites or playing games. Hence some offices block certain sites thinking that the employees will not waste their time in these sites. Better buy a laptap and you can use it in your office on your leisure time and also at home.

im an IT.but im the only one using my lot here in our office. and i also block social networking sites.its not my personal intention but the company ask me to. it's normal to companies to prevent unnecessary usage of internet during working hours.

Well, IT staff did it in purpose. You shouldn't do anything that is not related on your work during office hours. As an IT like me, we must follow the rules unless the president of the company allows his/her employees to post on mylot while working. Planning to buy a laptop is such a good idea.

It would be normal practise in Australia for employers not to allow privatye intyernet use in work time. Many companies block their workers from accessing the internet, & sometimes even emails. Sorry you dont have a pc at home.

Hi Zelmarq! That's too bad to hear. Besides from earning a few dollars here in mylot, I'm also learning something out of it through the interaction and exchanging of opinion from people with different nationality and nature. Right now, we're still free to use the internet and go to whatever websites we want. But maybe in the future, we will also have the same dilemma because of our new and strict President. I think you should grasp the coming Christmas season to buy a new laptop where many stores are offering zero interest installment if you intended to use your credit card. Have a nice day!

Hmm.. I'm wondering now where you are posting. Did you ever ask why mylot would be blocked? Anyhow, that's their digression. Yeah, it's indeed sad that you won't get the time anymore to do your mylot. But I don't think buying a laptop could be all worth it for mylot alone. Remember that most could barely go into the minimum payout a month, when do you think you'd receive turnover from you buying your own laptop? I'd certainly say that'll be a long time. But if you feel that you NEED the laptop for something else, and not just for mylot and doing games, then perhaps it's an investment.

I dont usually go on my lot when I am at work, although I might. when I do go on I usually am just checking my totals from previous days. I dont have time to post on it. I have enough regular work to do most of the time lol!

I don't know where you work. But some companies are willing to provide a bank of personal use computers. Maybe they would want contributions from employees if it's a small business. Alternatively, maybe you could pick up one of those netbooks that aren't as expensive.
