Good Day my friends. I have a dilemma that I need some help with. We all know that Christmas is just around the corner. I have grandkids to buy for and one little guy is asking for a DS Lite. I started looking around the web to get some price ideals. I have in the past used the popular ebay to purchase different items. I was watching an ad this morning about a new online auction site called SWOOPO. I went to their site and saw that you have to buy your bids. Then you can get these new items for very cheap prices if you are the winning bidder. Has anyone heard of it? Has anyone purchased from them? I guess I need to know if it is a real legit site to purchase from. Do you know of any other online auction sites that are trust worthy?

The only web site I have ever used was ebay. I have heard of SWOOPO, but I have never bought bids. I do not have the money to but the bids. If I know anymore about it I will definately let you know. I wish I could be more help to you.

I haven't won anything on ebay in a while. I had been trying to win either a Best Buy card and a Wal-mart card. I keep on getting outbidded. I wish I new of other auction sites that you can bid on. I wish you the best of luck.

I am sorry I don't really trust those sites. I haven't personally been burned, but I've never tried the site either. I go with amazon.com as I can get gift cards or use mturk to help pay on the balance of my purchase! I would check out the seller before bidding if I were you and were going to use swoopo!

Oh wow, 0.60! How they hide the "fine print" lol!

Hi SomeCowgirl I don't think that I will go with swoopo. I have found out that you do have to buy the bids at .60 each and that could run into a lot of money. Thanks for sharing and I forgot about amazon. Have a great day and keep smiling.

I had not heard of that one but there are at least two other sites like that--one of them is called BidCactus. It appears that some people do win objects for ridiculously low prices, but when I watched a few of the auctions I noticed that the same people were bidding over and overs, so it seemed to me one would have to be pretty good at math to keep up. One of the things they auction there is bid packages, so you are bidding to buy more bids...My, My! I am quite interested to see what other myLottians say about this.

Wow, that's a rough question. I see everyone here deals basically with Ebay too. I don't know of any other sites that are as good. I have a suggestion for you though about Swoopo. Try googling it with "swoopo scam?" and you will find plenty of answers there, good or bad. I usually do that all the time when I'm puzzled about a certain item, worksite, or job and find my answer really quick. Good luck to you. I do sell on Ebay and buy there too. One suggestion for you is to go into the Ebay stores there and check the prices. They are all Buy It Now, and alot of times it's cheaper than when it's up for auction. People get carried away with bidding so the prices go sky high because they don't want to be outbid. Watch your shipping prices too, some are really ripoffs. I do searching on Ebay all the time, so if you need any help or want me to watch for anything, just let me know. I really don't mind as I'm there every single day.

i have not heard of this one. but i have seen similar site where you can bid only if you buy a bid. for one dollar a bid. which is quite expensive i think. that is why i think that buying your bid is not worth it cause if you keep bidding and lose that bid you may end losing a good amount of money which can be big enough to buy the item by yourself. so i rather bid in ebay and other similar sites. though i have not tried so. cause i find the items i look for on ebay are very expensive like the prices on offline shops near me. and so i prefer to buy it on any near offline shops like in malls.

Hi hotsummer With this site that I was talking about you pay .60 for each bid. You have to buy a bid package. The cheapest is 24 dollars. I hadn't really put it in the way that you explained. Thanks for pointing that out to me. I too think that ebay has gotten too high. I went there about two years ago and got my oldest grandson a PSP. At that time in the stores they cost about 200 dollars. I was able to get the PSP and 6 games for 110 dollars including shipping. Now I can't find a DS Lite for less than 90 dollars and that is a used one. Thanks for sharing and have a nice day. Keep Smiling.

I am planning to do this in a few weeks. I found some websites were online auctions are being held. I think if you play it smart you will beat most other players and have a product at a very very low price :)

That is what I hope that I can accomplish. The site that I have checked out the item is going for almost new prices. But then after you add the shipping you are paying new price for a refurished item. I won't do that. Thanks for sharing and have a nice day. Keep Smiling.

Yes, I have used ebay many, many times. I have both bought and sold stuff there. I find it is a great site to purchase things, quite often for a fraction of the cost they would cost in the stores. I have also been a member of other auction sites and whilst I have bought and sold stuff on these other sites quite safely and successfully, I also go back to ebay as it has the most variety.. - Derek

Hi Rose, well I never heard of SWOOPO before and never heard of you buying bids. eBay is just too expensive to either buy or sell or auction as the fees are beyond unbearable. But if you are interested you could stop by my store. There is free listings, no fees to bid and very low price credits (19 cents per credit) but I always offer new customers free credits to get you started. Have a look at my website here. http://tinyurl.com/faststore (NOT A REFERAL LINK) Plus there are plenty of Christmas gifts you can get for the grandkids at really low prices. The list of items available are here http://tinyurl.com/qualitytrades again NOT A REFERRAL LINK! Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. Cheers

Ebay has its good points and bad points. It just seems that when I went on there that the prices are high. I was looking for a DS LITE for my grandson and they are going for way too much. Almost the same price as in the stores. Thanks for sharing and have a nice day. Keep Smiling

hey rosepedal64, i used to use bidsor, until one guy scammed me. That site was really popular, but when I bought a script for $5.99, he never gave me the script and took off with he money. I was really pissed of and now I really hate online auction sites because it always reminds me of that bad time. I remember Ebay, but I found out about that after I was scammed so I never bothered to try Ebay. Although I have heard really really good things about that site, I don't want to get scammed online. So now I don't deal with online transactions and that kind of stuff. I hope that this does not happen to anyone else. But until the world is filled with these kind of people, that will continue to happen. Anyways, have a great day and happy mylotting! Punjab911

I really hate that has happen to you. I can see why you don't use online auctions. If that was to happen to me I wouldn't use them either. I have in the past use ebay alot. I brought almost all of my christmas from their couple of years ago. I just wasn't sure about this new site. Thanks for sharing and have a great day. Keep Smiling.

I have seen some others like the one you are describing, but I have not heard about whether or not they are okay. I would say that if you can use Pay Pal to buy your bids it might be safe, because they will stand behind you if the purchase is not valid.

I have bidded quite a few times with ebay, and was successful once in buying a chinese made mobile phone. I do not know about the other sites, but you always trust ebay, as they guarantee your money, if the product is not sent to you.

Yes I have ordered from ebay alot in the last two years. One year I got most of my christmas from ebay for the grandkids. They will stand behind their bidders. Thanks for sharing and have a great day. Keep Smiling.
