I hate it when it is rain about 3 pm to 6 pm in Jakarta. A little rain in this city will make the traffic become crazy. The traffic jam in jakarta is bad enough, but after a little rain, the traffic jam become really scary. Especially if flood happened. The usual 1 and a half hour drive can be a 5 hour drive if rain and flood happened at that time. Do Rain and traffic jam is connected too in your city? What do you think about this? Thanks.

yes it is. even there is no rain the traffic jam really feels bad. I think Governor of jakarta have to make a policy about possessing in vehicle since there is so many car and motorcycle but the street is not increasing.

Yes, maybe you right. I don't really minda about motorcycle since they not take a lot of spot in the street. but car on the other hand, is take many a lot of the street. Also, i thinik the govenment should make a program that are encourage people to use mass transit. If many people prefer using mass transit, traffic jam will not be that bad since the street not to crowded by car.

Well i agree if people start using busway, i also one of it's user. But i don't think ciliwung transportation is a good solution since no body want to sit there and breath the smelly air there. Also, i already give up with monorail, it not gonna happened. Even i give up for the last few coridor busway that are still not operating. I think "Si Kumis" don't think busway as a solution ( which i think he is wrong ).

well it`s natural to get traffic jam in Jakarta. jakarta is traffic jam or traffic jam is jakarta.they can not be separated.LOL. ya, because rain and maybe electricty is off from PLN, make traffic jam is so worst and make we are boring. i had ever get that experience.it`s so uneasy to control your emotion when you are in traffic jam , and maybe in the rain too.

Yes, traffic jam is some thing usual in jakarta. Nothing special about them. But when rain comes, or when there are accident, the traffic jam become more and more crazy. Well just consider this, it is only 30 minutes if i go from my office to home in sunday, it take one and half an hour if i go to home from my office after work in working day. But when rain comes, it can take 2 1/2 to 3 hours. And if the rain is big, it can take to 5 hours. I remember i get from office at 5, and arrived at home at 10. I hate rain for this.

Yes, the traffic is crazy here. And since crazy traffic jam is happening almost every day, we cannot use them as a reason anymore since it is not a strong reason. Well i do like the traffic at the end of december and after idul fitri in jakarta. At that time, the street is very quiet with little to no traffic on the street. Thanks.

I was also very unhappy if it rains. every time I drop off and pick up my kids school, always raining. other than traffic, is also frequently exposed to water puddles from passing cars.

O yes, that is really bad too. Passing cars, although they are move as slow as they can, it just seem some time the water just splash no matter what. I also hate when the rain is so big that it flood the city. Some place in jakarta actually have a flood 2 meter long. Thanks.

There's not much difference if you compare it here in the Philippines. All it takes a little rain and you can expect the traffic to worsen. Maybe because there's too many vehicles in the road occupying almost every inch of the road. You would normally encounter traffic during rush hour especially when people got to work in the morning and go home in the evening. An unexpected rain during rush hour and you have to expect to go to work late or go home late. But I guess, it's really a sad reality that all people in the urban area have to face, because as time passes, it's only the vehicles that's increasing in numbers and the width of the roads remain the same. Cheers!

Yes, very true. And it seem the mass transportation in my country doesn't really help since it service quality is very low, most people with money and status rarely want to use them. And it is true that the vehicle is increasing every day while the road always the same. Thanks.

Yes, maybe there is because there is too many people living there. Jakarta is a small city, but it is actually very crowded. Too Many people living there. Also it seem the population always keep increasing there. Most people from village decide to move there. Some thing must be done or else most of us will grow old in the street, because most of our free time was spend in our way to home or office.

If you complained about the rain, flood, and traffic jam, Surabaya must be mentioned too for all those things. But thank God I'm not live in Surabaya. I live in Sidoarjo. It's a very nice town. The flood or traffic jam aren't big problems in here.

O good, yes most big city actually have this problem. Traffic jam. Because big city usually crowded with so many people and the center of business so many people come and go there. With many people there, with most of them rarely use public transportation like bus or train but prefer to use car and motorcycle make the traffic become more worse every day. Thanks.

Wow so you live in Denpasar, Bali. You are so lucky to live there. That is a very nice place. Anyway, well, since you live in Bali then you must be already see all the place there so you rarely go out. Anyway, i have been to Bali and yes, in that island the sun feel so hot so if you not near a beach, you will be sweat like crazy. So it is better to rain because the temperature will not be so hot. Thanks for responding this discussion.
