Egg is vegetarian or non vegeterian food.

Hi, I would like to knwo whether egg comes under which category.? It is vegeterian variety or non vegeterian variety.What does it mean to vageterian egg? Really vegeterian egg is there?

I think different people look at it in a different way, but I think some vegetarians might eat eggs because the chick inside was never viable anyways but I think that most would not consider it a vegetarian food because there could have been a chick in there. Definitely Vegans do not eat eggs, but they also do not drink milk or anything that has anything to do with animals or what animals produce.

Hi, srja12. I always thought that eggs was considered to be in the meat food group. So, eggs is not a vegetarian food. When I was younger, I always thought that eggs was classified as being in the vegetable category. But, I later found out that it is classified in the meat food group.

Egg is an animal product, therefore not vegetarian. However there are some who eat it, ovo-vegetarians and lacto-ovo-vegetarians
