Have you ever went to a turkey raffle or any kind of raffle?

A friend of ours is a fireman and the fire department is having a turkey raffle this Friday night it sounds like kind of a fun thing to do and I am thinking about going. Have you ever gone to a charity raffle before?

Is there something more to this than just a turkey raffle? Is it like a firehouse dinner and you can purchase ticket or are automatically entered to win a turkey if you come? I have participated in many charity raffles as I won in one yesterday for the food bank, but all I had to do was purchase a ticket didn't have to go any where or do anything special. Usually the fire stations around my area will have a spaghetti dinner and raffle stuff off in order to raise money for a charity or new equipment at the fire station. Usually these dinners are a great amount of fun and you don't feel like you are just giving your money away becuase you are getting fed a good meal.

I have never gone so I am not sure what goes on, there is food because my friend said there was, but I don't know what else. He said it was fun though.

Yes and it is good fun.Take spare cash with you as you will probably find something else to pay for while you are there.I have done quite a few of these raffles normally have a meal as well.The last one we went to was a cliff richards tribute night.
