Helium Marketplace Success

I am so excited! I was just looking at my earnings pages on helium to see what articles were not performing and when the page reloaded so did my balance! I have officially sold my first helium Marketplace article. I had not heard anything since the purchase deadline so I had basically given up on it and today I got an email from helium with all the details! It's nice to get paid some actual money for an article for a change. I wonder how long it will take for the marketplace badge to appear on my profile... This was certainly a nice little boost today!

That is exciting! Congratulations. I haven't tried that yet. Hopefully, now you will free up some time to write even more articles and sell them. YAY!hehe Yeah! At least you have finally made real money for an article now. Not like what AC and Helium pay for upfronts. I guess you are a published author? Which article was it? PS Now, will you please write to: how to instill positive discipline in your child? I am in third place but instead of being in the 33rd percentile if you write an article I will be in fourth place, but that will move it to 25%. See what I am trying to do with my % rate. LOL Is that how it works?

Are you allowed to do that? I guess if the publishers didn't "buy" your rights you can. That would be a lot of fun for everyone! Didn't you say you had some craft articles as well? You might want to look at Helium in the bible section. That's where I am headed.

I'll get to it next week when we're on Turkey break. I see I am going to have to send you a stack of tear sheets via snail mail so we can settle this "published" thing once and for all. I am actually thinking there must be some way I can put my old print articles online to make them available again. I shall have to ask Ms.Scheng what she thinks about it.

Ps I couldn't remember if you told me you were published or not. That does explain why your writing is so wonderful though. When I read your articles on AC, I was awed.

Congrats, that's great news. I think I saw my badge before I ever got any money, so it shouldn't be long for that. What was your article about? Congrats again, and keep up the great writing work!!

Thanks! It was on the top music artists of the 1930s. I have all next week off so I plan to do some Gather-ing :-)

What an interesting topic! I have been slack about being over at Gather myself. I just finished my last Call for Content article over at AC, and I feel positively elated! Last week I was helping my sister for a Christmas show she is doing, and I am so far behind on everything, especially writing!

What kind of Christmas show? Like a performance? I had an event last night and something the night before so today I am going to try and be a little lazy until I have to go teach my class.

Thank you! This was my first time out and I had to really push to meet the deadline, but I managed to complete two others so I have my fingers crossed.

Meh. I don't like the marketplace. Don't get me wrong I've been chosen twice (though my badge says 1) out of maybe 4-5 attempts. However, I just don't like the odds. I'd rather go to a site where I may not earn as much, but at least I know I'll earn it. PS. I think the badge only takes one day to appear.

What other sites do you write for? I use helium, triond, and of course mylot. I am new to helim and triond any advice?

Currently I'm really into textbroker. When epinions has a good special, I also write on there (though lately they haven't had any) Sometimes I write on helium, but it's only empty titles. Articles I write by my own keyword research are usually on bukisa. Now I'm trying to get back into blogging, or into freelancing websites like Getafreelancer and elance. But textbroker is definitely where I'll be until my blog(s) get off.

When I first learned of the marketplace I did not like that it was competitve. This time however, I was confident of my first hand knowledge of the music of the period and my writing ability and they were offering more than $20 for a change so I thought I would give it a shot.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! It was such a surprise I was looking at the performance of my helium articles and when I went to the new page and the number for my article earnings had changed and it was green it was a little surreal, lol.

Congratulation! I am so glad to hear about your success. I know what it is like when you can see your writing get published and you really can earn some money from it. Can you please tell me how helium works? Do you have any suggestion about site when I can write reviews. Thanks!

How helium works is you publish articles and get paid a tiny fee upfront as well as performance payments based on how often people are reading your articles. I do fairly well there and I don't post that much or promote my writing, I just don't have the time. To get started you have to post articles that are competitive because helium has a rating system. A competitve article is a title that has 3 or more article in it already. Some titles are not eligible for upfront payment but do help your writing score and star status. There is a link to my helium page in my myLot profile if you want to take a look at the site.

Congratulations on your success with Helium, for months I gave it a go with Helium, but found that I wasn't getting any where. I haven't returned to the site in quite a while, it is like I get a pit in my stomach when I think about it. Here I go making an effort to do the best I can on articles for the site, then I find articles that are written poorly being accepted and... It really hurts to see that happen especially when you take the time to make sure your sentence structure is proper and that you have checked your spelling. Maybe some day I will consider going back to Helium, until then, I wish all who have done well with it, the best of luck!

I was really frustrated with helium when I first signed up but then another myLotter explained some thigns to me about helium worked and I gave it another go and earned my first stars and started seeing pennies accrue for my articles. Now, a few months later I am starting to see dollars which has been a good incentive to keep going. I have had almost no success with Associated content so I am very pleased with my earnings at helium.

I have $2.99 in my account. I need to get my 5 ratings stars, right now I have 3. I have just been spending more time on Gather and Associated Content otherwise I would be further along at Helium.

$2.99 is still good for not having been active. I have over 100 articles now and I earned about $13 from page views. I didn't post that many articles because I had computer trouble but I still managed to get enough in upfronts and bonuses to make payout.

Hi Canellita, that's great! Congratulation. Is it the $280 title? I bet you will be very happy if you can make $280 for a single article. if you could just sell an article every week, I guess the income from Helium will be enough to pay for the utility and gas and cell phone.

Don't I wish! That would be more than one week of my teacher paycheck! I would love it if I could land articles that paid that well! The income from helium this time will be enough to cover more ink for my printer! Ha ha ha! If those other two titles sell I can also pay my car insurance.

congrats. it's really exciting news. I have joined helium two months and still find my feet. so far i just post my articles there and get first payout from them. i think it will take long times for me to sell an article on market. however i think helium is a very good site for writing lovers. I really enjoy my time there. wish we can have more fun there.

I am glad to hear your writing experience with helium has been successful and so quickly too! Many people don't put the effort into helium and they complain about it not paying off but I have had a very good experience there thanks to other members explaining the site to me.

Thanks for your reply. Your achivement is really impressive. I don't know which day i can sell an article on helium. English is not my first language so I have difficult to write proper articles. although i have lived in the UK for about 2 years, but my english is still not good enough. joining helium is a bonus to my english study. it's also a motiveation for me to write in English.

Hey, Congratulations! I'm also on helium but I haven't been active there. Reading your post made me log in to check my earnings! I've never competed for marketplace articles but maybe I should. Congratulations on selling your first article. I wish for your continued success with marketplace articles on Helium. They do pay quite a bit of money per article. Best wishes.

Hey wow Canellita! Congratulations! Its a great news. Its a wonderful feeling to get paid for your work and especially when some unexpected money comes the joy doubles. I have never used this site, but heard multiple times about it, sounds little techy for me and i usually get puzzled whenever i visit this site, may be will give a try now. Make a wish list now and enjoy :)

Thank you tictac. If you have any experience as a writer you may want to look into helium as a potential source of passive income. Last month I earned over $13 just from page views.
