Cats are more attracted to females than males. Do you agree?

My husband brought it up while we were having dinner that he has read that cats are more attracted to females than males. He said it's because cats likes high-pitched sounds. Come to think of it, I haven't come across any single male person who has a cat for a pet. Have you noticed this? What can you say about this?

Thats really true. I have more friends even here in myLot who are cat lovers and all were female. I don't know whether cats are attracted to high pitch sound but I can say that females are more attached to cats than cats do. Cheers... Have a nice day always....

I have read that talking birds learn better from females because their voices are higher, but cats being attracted by such? Hmm, I'll wait for more proof. IF they are, there could be a host of reasons, not just the voices we have. Maggiepie "WHERE'S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE?"

You just hang out with the wrong males, the males in our family love and are loved by the family cats. We have a lot of visitors come to the ranch and many are males, I can't tell you how often I have seen a cat rub against a man's legs, next think I know it's purring in his arms, of course almost all the people who came here are animal people, they not only have animals but also love them.

I dont agree, I had a girl friend once who had 2 cats and when ever I came over to her house the cats would come right to me. One of the cats had a "I just dont like people" atatude, then one day sitting on the couch with my girl, this cat came up and just got right in my lap. Believe me this cat would never get in any ones lap, not even my GF. You should have seen the look on her face. 0-:. Any pet will love who pay attention to them, play, feed them.

That's been my observation, as well. Still, it would be swell if some researchers decided to do tests (NOT any that would harm the cats, of course!). Anecdotal evidence isn't proof of anything, scientifically. I wonder if the poster has a relevant link? Maggiepie "WHERE'S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE?"

I don't think that's true with EVERY cat, but it's possible it could be true with some of them. My cat, I honestly don't know WHAT it is but he hates almost every man out there, minus two. But he loves girls. He cuddles up to me, my mom, my friends who are girls... But when it comes to males, he'll bat them away and growl. It's kind of funny, but I honestly don't know why he acts that way!

I have a cat for a pet. He follows me around the house. And my voice isn't high-pitched It probably also has to do with the cat "personality".

No I don't agree with this There is a saying about Cats and it is very true You never own a cat, A Cat owns you Cats will choose their owners no matter what whether it is Male or Female once they have taken to a Person that is it no matter if another Person has raised them, fed them and all that if they decide that is not the right Person then they will not accept that Person as their owner

This is the first time I have heard about this saying and it is very interesting. If the cat chooses you as his owner then they'll be really loyal then, I expect.

I've not read any studies on this, mind you, but I know males--many!--who love cats. Maybe I just hang out with men who don't find it "unmanly" to find cats lovable & wonderful? I have met a few who have that macho attitude, but only a few. The rest, starting with my own dad, love them. Dad loved all animals. So, maybe it's the other way about, maybe cats are more attracted to women because women allow them to get closer? I don't know, but it would make for some interesting studies, wouldn't it! I think so that it is true as I have a cat here beside me who never left me as every time i walk around the house the female cat always follow me. Now that i am replying here at this moment this cat just curled below my feet then sometimes she keep licking my feet or rub her skin which irritate me sometimes as it makes me itchy. Thus, female cats are very affectionate and lazy as they always like to find a softer places to sleep most of the times, like pillow, my bed and chair.

I don't know whether it is true. When i was young, i had several cats and at that time i love them very much. But i don't like cats at all because they look frightened. There is a little dog in my family now, who is called Niuniu. I think she is just like a child, and she is the most beautiful and lovely pet in the world.

I don't know but i think it actually exits that a single male has a cat.Cats could be used for catching rats,if his house has a lot of rats, perhaps he would adopt one,or if he loves cats,he's lonely... I remembered that once i heard one said most female like cats.I wonder whether it's because of this that they both are attracted to each other.

LOL... that's funny about the adopting a cat if the man's house has a lot of rats. I guess the adopted cat for that house will be really happy being adopted.
