I never heard anything like that. But drinking 8-10 glasses of water is essential to lose weight and also to prevent dehydration due to lot of water loss due to cardio. If you need to boost your metabolism, one good thing to do is to eat 5-6 smaller meals throughout the day with a portion of protein and carbohydrates.

Start your day with a glass of water. As soon as you wake up, gulp down a glass of cool water. It’s a wonderful way to start you day and you only need a lesser quantity of your breakfast drink after that. A glass of water lets out all your digestive juices and sort of lubricates the insides of your body. You may have your morning cup of tea but have it after a glass of water. It is good for you.

i read that it is because the body is forced work to convert itself to warm again is the reason why drinking cold water can speed up metabolism. so, if you do this 8x a day then you would probably lose weight by drinking cold water.

I drink a TON of cold water everyday and my metabolism has not improved. I wish it were the case. I have heard that you burn more calories because your body has to bring the water to it's temperature, but I don't think it's enough to make you lose weight.

I would think so. I just wouldn't eat 3 buttery cookies like I just did. I feel really full now. There's too much butter. And it is not good with weight. But water does increase your metabolism. This can be good. I find that if I drink it in moderation I will not get too hungry though. If I drink a lot of water, I will get too hungry. This is because I am not used to drinking lots of water and can't be extremely hungry without eating too much. Ice water is yummy. You should also put lemon in it. Lemon is really good. Or lime. I think you can even put lemon juice in it. The kind from the lemon juice bottles. But a real slice of this would look very refreshing. I am thinking that an orange perhaps might be good too. I have never heard of orange water, except when they sell it in stores. They also sell raspberry water, but I would not know how to make this. Ice makes water very cold and more refreshing. It keeps your metabolism up because it shocks your system. I have read this before. It has worked for me in the past. Also, spicy food does the same thing. There's lots of little things you can do. Have fun drinking water.

I was watching this sort of myth busters type of show on food network and they said that 8 oz of ice cold water doesn't actually speed up your metabolism but it does take more energy aka calories to keep your body at its normal temperature after drinking ice cold water. So it will help burn a few more calories but nothing that will make a real difference.
