Hello everyone! I loved Asparagus and Broccoli and regularly buy some during weekends. Very expensive because I think we never grow it locally, but then these vegetables are packed with high amounts of vitamins, antioxidants and minerals that I just ignore the amount when buying. Usually I just boiled it or just saute in garlic, onion and canola oil.

Hi jlamela, here in my city in india, my wife or daughter in laws don't know how to cook asparagus, it is not so popular here, more over in the markets you can't buy fresh variety of this, only dried, people make powder and eat as medicines, it is supposed to cure cancer Thanks for sharing Cheers. God bless you, have a nice day ahead. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. .

Asparagus is a soft vegetable so it won't need further heating. Steaming will be fine then just sprinkle it with water. I agree, it is very healthy and a good cancer prevention.

asparagus is my favourite vegetable!!!I love it. I cook it usually just by boiling for about 4 mins so its still a little crunchy, then I cool it down really quickly with cold water so it stops cooking. I then prepare whatever meat, fish etc that we're having and when thats done I pop it into a griddle pan for a minute with some garlic butter to heat up and serve....delicious!!!! Lovely wrapped in bacon or with parmesan cheese as well, yum!

My hubby and one of our daughters likes asparagus. All of us love broccoli though. It is one vegetable that you can have with every kind of meal. It goes with everything. It is one of the best vegetables that you can eat. We like it raw to put in salads or just dip in salad dressing. I also like to steam it for about 7 minutes so that it is still a bright green and crunchy. Yum! The best way we love to eat it is sauteed in olive oil, Bragg's liquid aminos (it is like soy sauce but better for you), 4 cloves of garlic and crushed almonds. Yummy! I'm getting hungry for it right now! Sincerely in Christ, Leesa C. Eph.2:8,9

I also cooked broccoli and asparagus in a minimal heat and never boiled it hard. Sometimes I saute it with garlic and onions and mixed with other vegetables available in my kitchen. Asparagus is my favorite among the two.

Yes, I do agree with you. Brocccoli and Asparagus are both rich in Vitamin C, Folate, Bcomplex and fibers. Very good for digestions and known to fight certain diseases. So these vegetables should be integrated in our meal everyday.

Personally I love Asparagus and wish it was not so expensive. I know it is also a harder to cook up vegetable compared to some of the others out there, but so good when cooked right for sure. As for broccoli, this has never been one of my favorites so I could do without usually unless it is either boiled or steamed with a little cheese added on top for flavor.

I love them too. And thinking about the taste of these awesome veggies, I remembered that I have to cook another one of those veggies that are not loved by everyone: artichokes. I make quiches with all of them. A thin pastry dough, the veggies al dente (I hate overcooked veggies), eggs and some parmesan cheese as a topping if you like it. Sauteed veggies is awesome too.

Asparagus and broccoli are actually two of my favorite vegetables, and surprisingly, both of my children eat them as well. When I cook my veggies, I usually just steam them very lightly as that way most of the nutrients are kept in tact, plus, that way we are able to enjoy the natural flavors of them as opposed to flavors that we infuse into them. I will either use my microwave to steam my veggies or else I will use my waterless cookware to steam it. Which method I use simply depends on how quickly I want to eat.
