Do you run from Jehovah Witnesses when they are trying to talk to you?

I try to be polite them my brother slams the door on them. I may take a book and brief read it and find some things interesting but never set up an appointment for them to come to my house.

One day I was at my brother’s house when one of his friends, a Jehovah Witness, drove up and asked his brother (who was talking to My brother at the time); Hey, have you received your CHECK yet? His response was Yes and how about you? How can people do this? Say they believe in God, but they want to get paid for it. I don’t like to be rude to anybody so I just tell him or her that my religion differs from his or hers and just turn around and walk away.

jw's are non profit organization.. their evangelizing is solely volunteer, they're not being paid for it, that's why it is hard to be a jw... probably you're just misinterpreting somthing... maybe that guy was asking about his brother's paycheck from his secular job, like a restaurant or whatever-that-job-is.

From my past experience with SOME family members, it seems they take the Word and twist it to benefit themselves. They seem to think that they only way to get to Heaven is if you are a Jehovah Witness...and I don't see that ANYWHERE in my Bible. Also, they were always pressuring us to worship with them, but I've NEVER seen one willing to worship anywhere other than with other Jehovah Witnesses. If I'm wrong, I'd really like to hear it. Again, this has been MY experience. If you want to listen to what they have to say, make sure you have a strong biblical ground yourself so you don't get confused....or just take out your Bible and make them PROVE what they are saying and read it for YOURSELF.

your experience maybe or your interpretation... well, did you read in you bible that the name of God is Jehovah? Here are some of them Psalms 83:18, Exodus 6:3 (I recommend use this site for comparison of different bibles: http://bible.cc ) and did you also read that Jehovah called His worshipers "witnesses"? Isaiah 43:10 Did you also read that God will take people out of the Gentiles for his name? Act 15:14 Jehovah's Witnesses believe that there are small group of People who are going to heaven, and a "great crowd" who will inherit the everlasting life here on earth... either way, it is impossible for you to go there if you will not acknowledge that the Name of God is Jehovah and the son of God is Jesus Christ. John 17:3, Romans 10:13, Matthew 6:9 they also believe that they are the true religion, and they can prove it by their doctrine using bible (by "truth") and by their practise & conduct (By "spirit) John 4:24 read your bible daily, wish you the best!

I just met one today. I just learned that they use the same bible as us, the only thing is, they have translated it into more modern language so it's easier to understand. I used to think that they used a different bible then everyone else. . I don't know alot about their other beliefs, but I do know that Jehovah is god's name, so that's one thing I know they are right about. Usually they come to my house and I tell them to leave, but today a listened, haha.

You listened and the information they told you is false. The JW bible has many errors of translation. It is not in a more modern language, it is simply changed and moulded to fit their beliefs. There are many Bible translations in common english.

I am always polite. They are people too. They believe that they are helping to save your soul. How can you be mad at that. That takes alot of love. Especially when you deal with people slamming doors, cursing you out and who knows what else.

That's the thing everyone has their own beliefs not that you have to agree with them.

When I want the tards to knock on my door I will ask them to. As far as I am concerned they are no different than telemarketers who are trying to push something on me I do not want and in the process they are invading on my privacy doing it.

I usually do not answer the door. I do not have the time to sit there & converse with them.
