I don't know if it really can work as a medicine or not, but it's true that when you feel happy, or just content, or just in a good mood, your body seems to fel good too. When I've been sad I've fallen sick very often, but in good times my body would behave better, so I guess is better to make your mind and your body content by laughing now and then.

I know it's good for us to keep ourselves happy everyday. But life is not always smooth so how can we make it. Most of the time I dn't feel happy when I am with my family. So the way I release myself is crying out instead of laughing.

I tend to laugh even if it's not funny such as sarcasm and irony either I laugh or I reply with sarcasm back but usually if I do that, no one laughs but some jokes are funny without being sarcastic I receive those in emails sometimes, real good laughs

Life is full of ups and downs, full of stress and difficulties and struggles. People are so much caught up in the rat race that they do not have the time to think.Laughter is a stress-buster and as you have said helps the body to keep healthy.Nowadays there are many laughter clubs which have many senior citizens as members since they are more prone to health problems as with advancing age the immune system of the body is quite low, hence the person falls ill frequently. Personally i do not subscribe to this laughter therapy mainly because i never get ruffled or stressed whatever situation i find myself. The reason for this is that u have got my mind under control because of a particular spiritual discipline or sadhana which i have been doing for the last 20 years. We get stressed because we have too many desire which are unfulfilled leading to tension, unhappiness and high Blood pressure which tells on the body.Through my sadhana i have managed to remove most of the problems which the common man suffers and so my mind is under control and always in a happy state.Though i do not laugh out loud ,internally and in my mind i am always smiling and laughing.

Hello veejay19 this is checkmail and thanks for responding to the discusison of Laughter and sharing in your experience and views about it.Well its very good to know that you are doing meditations regualrly from the past 20 yrs.It helps our mind and physical body function under our own control, and is the best way to remain healthy.Yes these are the only few practices which helps our health in proper ways and also maintain it for us.This practices includes the Yoga, Meditations and laughter therapy, which requires only our body and control to perform.Anyways keep on smiling and laughing, its good for Health.Keep it up.

Hi checkmail, it's well known that smiling and laughing are good for one as apparently release some chemical into the brain to work as a natural anti depressant. The idea of it being used as a therapy though is a bit laughable as it really needs to come naturally and not be forced. It's hard to imagine Mr Glum or Mrs Complainer going round naturally smiling and being pleasant, so naturally their negativity is going to have a negative affect on them.

Hello thea09 this is checkmail and thanks for responding to the discussion of Laughter and sharing in your experience and views about it.The therapy is literally completely perfect, as it isn;t any force thing to do.Anybody can willingly laugh anytime. And its also an tendency of our human behaviour to follow the effects of other humans nearby to you.So if a group of peoples laugh an single cannot stay calm and quiet but he also starts to laugh.Thats the whole secret of this therapy, doesn't need much to add anything and its also free and gift of nature to remains healthy.Think its also used in cases of patients who are paralised or stubborn.

Hi,checkmail, Laughter the best medicine is not a new thing. However, its use as a medical therapy is something new. Have you come across the term humor therapy or laughter therapy? Humor therapy or the laughter therapy is a therapy that uses the positive emotions that are associated with laughter. It is claimed to be beneficial to cure heart diseases and depression. Laughing loudly reduces stress and lowers blood pressure. Feeling sad and depressed? Try laughing more. Join a laughter club or watch a comedy movie or even try reading an Archie comic. This would make you feel better and helps place you back in a good and happy form. http://www.mybuzzle.com/blogs/entry/Laughter-Therapy-Laughing-out-Loud-LOL- Have a nice time. Really?!? Well, that's good news. Thanks to our pet dog Xiefu. She does a lot of crazy things which make us laugh daily. With her around, we really don't have to purposely engage in any laughter therapy daily.
