Which part of Denmark are you going to visit? Most tourists visit Copenhagen, but there are a lot of other beautiful places around the country for instanse the peninsula (Jutland) and some of the islands. Some of my favourite places are Skagen, Silkeborg, Skanderborg, Vejle, Odense, Assens, Faaborg and Svendborg.
I was born in Odense and that city is famous because Hans Christian Andersen (the fairytale writer) was born there. Some of the famous things in Copenhagen are Tivoli, the little mermaid and the pedestrian area. There are many museums and many shops in Copenhagen, and there are plenty of souvenir shops in the pedestrian area. Many tourists buy papercuts or viking dolls, but there are many other kinds of souvenirs.
If you have any questions about Denmark, I will be happy to help. I hope that you will enjoy your time in Denmark

Thanks Porcospino. Its great to hear from some one who is a native of Odense.I will be landing in Copenhagen and I have 5 days with me.I have read that Denmark is a place with friendly people.I have a few questions for now,I hope you will help me with them.
1. Is English well spoken?
2. Should I carry Euros or Krons?
3. With shopping, should I bargain or the prices fixed. How are the prices compared to other countries?
4. From Copenhagen, how can I plan my visits to the places mentioned by you.By vehicle,by train and how much is it going to cost me.
Thanks in advance for your time.

It shouldn't be a problem to find someone who speaks English. Some people especially from the older generation haven't learned English at school, but young people generally speak and understand English. In the shops, ticket offices, hotels, restaurants etc you will be able to speak English to the staff.
In Denmark we have chosen to keep our own currency (Kroner) instead of Euros, so you will need to get some "Kroner". Most prices are fixed, and in the shops you can't bargain. If you visit one the markets you can bargain, but aside from that the prices are fixed. Most tourists say that Denmark is expensive, and compared to Eastern Europe things are generally more expensive in Denmark/Scandinavia.
Unfortuneately public transportation is also expensive in Denmark. You can go by train or by bus. There is a train from Copenhagen to Odense. It takes one hour and 30 minutes, and it costs about 230 kr (= $45) for a one-way ticket. From Odense there are busses to Assens, Faaborg and Svendborg. There is a train from Copenhagen to Silkeborg/Skanderborg. It costs about 300 kr ($60). The train from Copenhagen to Skagen costs at least 400 kr ($80) probably a bit more.
