I have visited Sydney with its opera house and harbor bridge. It is my favorite city that I have been to. I visited Cape Town this year and it is a lovely city with mountains plus beaches. I loved going to San Francisco and seeing its Golden Gate Bridge. I have been to many cities in Europe that have historical sites. I like Prague, Budapest, Dubrovnik, Lisbon and Istanbul most of all. Which cities have you enjoyed visiting? What did you see in one of the cities?

I've been to New York City, too. I went in 1957 when I was 5 years old and I don't remember very much about that trip. I also went again when I was 16. It's a big city, isn't it? I like to visit it but I wouldn't care to live there. Kathy.

I have only visited places in England, well I have been to France for one day but dont really remember it as I was 11 at the time. You certainly have travelled around! I dont even own a passport! My 2 favourite cities in England are London and Newcastle both for different reasons. I love London because of all the hustle and bustle everyone seems to have something to do. I love Newcastle because I support Newcastle Football Club and the people there are so friendly!

Hi maximax8! My favorite city is Paris, France and I got to visit it in 1973. I got to see the Eiffel Tower, the Arc De Triumph, The Seine River, and I can't remember what all. I aso liked Lucerne, Switzerland. It is so beautiful with all the snowcapped mountains. Another city I liked was Honolulu, Hawaii. I also liked London, England. I feel like I'm bragging when I say this but I have travelled so much and seen so many cities until it's hard for me to say which ones I liked the best. Like I said, Paris would have to be my favorite, though. Kathy.

You mentioned San Francisco. I have been there. I have relatives who live near there, in a little town called Napa. I been there at least four times. San Francisco is a nice city, too. Kathy.

I have been to Sydney a few times and although it is a beautiful harbour, I feel that it was destroyed when they built a large city on it...LOL I grew up in Melbourne, which has always had a rivalry with Sydney as they are the two largest cities in Australia, so I am a bit biased against Sydney! I have been to many cities in the USA and my favourite there was San Francisco. I liked the feel of the place. It had an energy about it which made me feel comfortable. Edinburgh in Scotland had the same sort of feel from it for me. I loved the ancient architecture and the castle and all of its history. It is amazing! I also enjoyed London as I got to check out some places that were owned by my ancestors 300 years ago as well as the usual famous historical landmarks. In London I got to stay with two friends in different parts of London and get a feel how it is to live there which was great. Beijing was another one which is special to me, although that is memorable for just being completely different to any other place that I had ever been before. It was the first city that I ever visited which was not English speaking and the sights there were amazing. The poverty and dirtiness of the place as well as the stunning architecture are things that stand out in my mind from Beijing.

I too have travelled quite a bit - a large part of India,Nepal, 7 countries of Europe, Australia, New Zealand, USA - Florida, California, New Jersey, Colorado, New York, Bufallo, Washington, I have also gone on a luxury cruise of the Bahamas by the Sovreign of the Seas. All places have their specialities but I liked Switzerland and South New Zealand the best of all for their scenic beauty. I can go on and on and write about my travel diary but this place is not enough. The Jung frau experience in Switzerland was very fascinating indeed, to go there one needs to first get on to a cable car, then a train then a gondola and reach the top of the mountain and there there is an ice palace carved and it was great walking inside it.

I agree that Sydney is fascinating. I loved Perth when I was there. It is beautifully laid out with lots of trees and the Swan River. Vancouver stands out in my mind as being a lovely city, with that island nearby. San Fransico was really interesting with its steep streets, tram cars and the Golden Gate brdge. I also loved Budapest for its historical buildings. New York was a sight to see, with its very crowded streets and the Statue of Liberty.

I like Amsterdam a lot, not only because the buildings seem to be like parts of different puzzles, and that's funny, but also because is very lively. You have many things to see, like the red light district, chinatown, you can walk down Amstel river, visit Van Gogh's museum... Also by night there are lots of places to go to!
