I've recently joined an online football (soccer for the Americans) manager game, on ManagerZone.com. The game can be played in many languages, many countries having their own league - I've even seen players from China bought by Romanian teams and their names are still appearing written with Chinese characters . The game seems fairly complex (I've played other online managers that had more tactics options), but I'm beginning to like it. A huge plus for the 3D matchview option! Is anyone around here playing on ManagerZone? Please tell me your username, team name or division, maybe we can play some friendly games or, who knows, maybe even trade players. If you like manager games, you can give it a try - it's free to register, but the best options are kept, of course, for paying members. If you join let me know, for the same purposes I listed above.

Hi there Vasile. I would like to try this out a bit and i will probably do so soon. I can't say that i will play it for a long time but perhaps i could help you with some players from transfers or some money making scheme so you can do better. I think it's a bit unfair that only the paying members get the better options but hey, they have to make a living right ? So what is your team name and what division are you in so i can think where to start :) Take care.

I've just begun playing a couple of weeks ago, so I can't say I have a money-making strategy. I'm getting acquainted with my players and the game options. A useful thing to do when you know somebody it that you can play friendly games. These games cost nothing, bring little money to the club, but are very useful in testing different players, team formulas or tactics. You can't choose the division you'll enter, the game will give you a team in the lowermost divisions. You can search teams by name and challenge them to friendlies. My team is called Palaeo Beasts, and you can find it in Romania, div6.318.

The only way of inviting people to join ManagerZone is by sending them invitations via e-mail. But that's OK, you can join from the homepage, and if the registration forms have a line for referral, you can fill in stvasile, that's the username I use there too. I don't think they give any bonuses for referring people anyway... I thought I tell people about the site just because I like it, not to have them as referrals.

There's a lot to say if I want to describe the game, as it has many options. Basically, you get a team in the lowermost division of your country. Each player has a set of skills that make him suitable for a position or another. You get to set the players on the best positions, train them so that they increase the skills that you need. You can contract coaches to help improve your players' skills - each coach can train some skills better than other. You also get to transfer players and you control the club's finances: you get to extend your stadium or demolish parts of it, you can build facilities, you can invest in growing young players. If you are a member (which I'm not yet) you get to play in cups and earn more ingame money. I'm not saying it's the best manager of all, I was just ondering if other people play it. In fact, I've already seen that you can't change the tactics during the match (what I was able to do in another manager...).

In the Fantasy Premier League, are your teams formed of actual Premiership players? Do you get points on how well these players actually play in the Premiership games? Because if so, it is a different kind of manager than the one of ManagerZone. In ManagerZone, all players are fictitious and have stats of their own, and evolution of these stats by training, etc...

I am into hattrick. It is very similar to managerzone.com. I have been playing it for years now. Recently I have been demoted to third division because I was not taking too much care of the team. How are you doing??

I've heard of Hattrick. Well, I've picked up the team half-way through the season on the last place and finished 5th, but I managed to get the hang of the game and organize my team and finances. Now I'm on my second season with the team and I won all matches so far, and I am confident of finishing first and promoting to the 5th division.
