Okay, I know most of us have nicknames for our pets like mine-Mr. Bojangles & Homer-we usually call them Homie or Holmes & Bo. The funny thin is they know all their names. How about you do you have "pet" names for your pets & do they respond to all their names?

Hey LKo, She'll get it,I had a dog (she grew to be one of my lifetime favorite's) when I got her she was so ridiculous she would just run laps when you called her but eventually she was so smart she could scratch at the door to go outside, get in the chair on command etc... |:)

That is the same here with us. I had a dog named Bo and we nicknamed him so many names. He knew them all too. We now have a new puppy and he knows all of his nicknames already too. They learn quick.

Yes my three all have soppy nicknames and they respond to them. Sometimes they even respond faster as the nicknames indicate to them that something good is about to happen.

My parents let my sister have a kitten (but wouldn't let me have a dog!) and she named him "Midnight". However, since my mother actually hates animals of any kind, she would yell at him by calling him "Kitty" when he was doing something less than acceptable. So overtime he came to think his name was Kitty instead of Midnight. He only responds to his real name when my sister calls him.

Interesting-he responds to midnight from your sister but kitty from your mom. How about when you or any other family member called for him-did you have to say "kitty"? |:)
