How often have you heard of a Politician who gets himself into a sexually compromising situation? I say himself, because Ive not heard of a female politician being in that situation, but please correct me if I'm wrong. I think every year, we hear of famous Country Leaders, or Starte Leaders, who have been "exposed". And by that, one could say they have been exposing themselves.. not in the illegal sense. Our State Premier has been accused of having had an affair with a government waitress for some months. Alledgedly her husband assaulted our Premier over it last year.Naturally he has denied the affair. In fact his words of denial, were eeringly similar to a certain ex President of the USA. Im not sure if I believe that this affair really occured. I saw the woman speaking on TV a few times, and her story has already been in major magazines, and I cant say I found her reliable. Nevertheless, it put me to mind of the number of times we hear of Politicians who do have affairs, or perform some other sexually inappropiate behaviour. Just why do they do this? What do My Lotters think? What examples of this sexually inappropiate behaviour do you have of Politicians in your country?

hi jenny, in case of my province i also found similar situation where one chief minister was caught with his girl friend having his own wife. it may be ignorable but in publicly when it was exposed then people rushed to road and protest it. that was the only one icident that i have ever heard.

Hi Jenny, good post here by the way. Well there's something about men having a bit of power I believe which goes to their heads, if you look at some of the UK politicians who have been caught out over the years it would make you laugh as if they didn't have the bit of power and cash no one would ever look at them so a lot of them just can't believe that suddenly someone finds them attractive, which of course they don't, as they are simply after the free publicity, cash or association with power. There was the most pug ugly foul chap ever in the Tory party, yes the family values spouting party, who got caught to great hilarity, but I expect the name David Mellor rings no bells over there. They are the first ones to expect their private lives to be kept out of the news but the ones who hypocritically spout family values all over the place. Personally I couldn't care less what they get up to in their free minutes but when they are so hyporcrital about it then they deserve the exposure. The very idea that John Major was the type (ex PM) was hilarious exposure as exposed by his female plaything who was herself a more than spunky female mp. Of course over here it is much more acceptable as this is Europe don't you know, and people have affairs and it is accepted. But there was a big juicy scandal about the very fat member who was pushed from a very high window by his bit on the side and ended up in a state of complete embarrassment here in Greece.

Ah we think alike, I couldn't care less what they get up to if they could actually manage to run the country and when they are caught I find it generally amusing. I agree that the Americans are so over the top about this kind of thing and can keep a bit of tedious scandal going for years.

A few comments. I don't think the issue is limited to politicians, for it happens with sports heroes and any one else who is in the news. With the hollywood types, it happens so often that it may not even be newsworthy. And why is it the man is always painted as the bad guy. For instance, Tiger Woods. Yes he was cheating on his wife and that is terrible, no doubt. But how about the 3 gals he had affairs with? Just innocent little babes? I don't think so. We all know that if a man is only a little interested that a clever and crafty woman can exercise her wiles and nab him! Is their no responsibility there? Of course, differences between men and women being what they are, the man does tend to be more likely to wander. djbtol

Yes, I would agree that it not only happens with Politicians. We have had our share of sports stars who loose control.... I dont think it is only the man who is blamed. Monica whatshername got a fair beating by the media, and the women in my city/state who has accused our premier, is likely to come out of it worse than the premier.

I think things like this happens all over the world. I think alot of politicians let their popularity go to their heads and they think they are invinceable and think they will never get caught or publicised,

Very true. They dont count on the woman they are having the affair with revealing all.

i don't know what it is with any well known person in the public eye that does stupid things like that. they're only setting themselves up to be blackmailed or shunned (and sometimes by other figures who are found to be doing the same later). look at the whole tiger woods thing.he just put his endorsements in jeopardy. the "squeaky clean" image is right out the window.

This depends on the person.Let us admit power is a heady concoction of position, stress, vulnerabilty.A politician fails to see himself as a common man.He woukld like to believe he is the ALMIGHTY.What happens he statrs with a mild fling then gets caught in the whirlpool of lust and instant gratification. He would like to think that he can get away with murder. That is the time his sins catch up with him and he gets exposed.

A very good assessment of the situation. Yep, power and lust, and not realising that the woman may eventually reveal all.

They are all afflicted with the same problem...they are men and do not know how to keep their pants closed/zipped or buttoned.

Politician should make their personal affairs discreet. Or do not do something that will tarnish their political image. Sometimes...they do things that is not appropriate and can be labeled as wrong conduct. I knew they are just humans and made mistake. But if they really want the peoples respect...they should behave properly.

Discreetness is the best way to go, IF they must have an affair. The problem is, if you are a politician, the chances are the people you have the affair with, may well eventually expose you.

I speak as a man on this issue , and my view on this is that ..women can be very crafty sometimes , they find ways to lure gullible men into their honey traps and then expose them as adulterous hypocrites to the public..later on they go for a big monetary settlement in court ... like the Lewinsky thing with Bill Clinton. It's hard to resist a beautiful woman and most men don't possess the ability to control themselves and this is probably the same reason why they indulge themselves in guilty pleasures that I am pretty sure they regret of the morning after. Basically , women use their charm to climb up the ladder and gullible men are the stepping stones , that's why you never hear of women ..because to get where they are ..they used someone who is in a powerful position to make it all go away at one point..lest risk exposing himself too.
