Yes. I have looked things up before to help my friends out. I have found alot of discussions that ask for answers or information. I look it up sometimes to give them an answer.

If your question is specifically about "Scientific Oriented Discussions", then my answer would be yes, because generally a common man would be lacking it and need to research. I would do it ....yes !!

hi,TMANOJ,yes, when the discussion is completely new and hard subject,as we discuss about subject involving science..we have to search or leave the discussion... But one way it is useful in knowing the new subject.. Have a nice time.

no i have never done this but if the discussion makes a place in my mind and i feel that i need to get an answer to it then i would surely search the web and try to learn the facts about the issue. I do search a lot on wikipedia for facts and figures.

No I never venture to give response to a topic which I am not aware of. If I go wrong in giving answer, I am misguiding them is it not?

i rarely done it as somehow you may be influence to copy it and i prefer to search on it then just give few information not copying the entire definition to avoid being charge with plagiarism. Though, if the subject require thoroughly research it is good to put also the link.
