Hi vijayanths, long ago - when I was a kid, my father told me listen to everybody, there is something for you in what others are telling. Just glean it. Well, I look for such things. Offhand, I can recall Julia Roberts in Stepmom. She tries to tell her step daughter that there are two choices, one is to sit and cry out in the cold, all alone, and the other is to do something about it. To me, that was the most important part of the movie. It was similar to Julie Andrews explaining to her step child in Sound of Music, the sun always comes the next day. :) So there are always somethings that make a lot more sense than others. :) It is like pulling out the tasty kernel. :) However, I dont always watch movies or serials. I have an issue about watching sob stories. I cant just sit in front of television and look at something that I cant relate to, or enjoy. :(

I prefer Star movies, HBO, or other movie channels. If I have to watch a sitcom, my favorite would be friends. :) I like CSI Miami, Practice, and such stuff. :)

My favorite channel on Satellite TV is the 'Learning Channel.' I find it very interesting and stimulating. It covers a wide range of info which might take us a long time to learn up if we were to read a book. The audio visual methods of learning is best to help cover large amount of knowledge within a very short or limited time. Further many learn better through visual methods than through imagination.

My favorite channel on cable television are HBO, Star Movies, KBS, Arirang Channel, National Geographic, MTV, Channel V just to mention a few. If I am watching National Geographic I learned so many things from Science, Politics, Astronomy, General Living etc. i forgot to mention Lifestyle Network, this channel focusing on Lifestyle and foods. I learned some recipes from this channel and I learn to see how the food were cooked. Some of the chefs give tips too , which makes it enjoyable. Even by watching HBO and Star Movies, I learned from it. I learned about life. By different movies they show, I learned to deal with different problems in life because I learned from the film. MTV and Channel V, I can get fashion tips and new updates on new music. Television greatly influence ourlives.

The Cooking channel is by far my favorite and the history channel. I learn all about historical figures that I did not learn about in school and I have always loved cooking so having additional recipes on the tv is great.
