Have you ever thought this after watching a film Everyone wanted you to see or after watching a "Classic" film? I have ,twice. It happened when I saw both Dr Strangelove and 2001 a Space Odyssey.I didn't find Dr Strangelove funny or entertaining and 2001 bored me. How about you?what film made you say I've seen it, so what!

I keep falling into this problem with the Cohen brothers' movies. They get all these amazing reviews and win awards and people love them so I rent one, watch it and just keep waiting for something good to happen. And then I get to the end and nothing happened so I cry out to the movie gods to give me back the wasted two hours of my life. No Country for Old Men was the worst. I still don't think there was ever a distinct plot to that movie. A conflict, a climax, a resolution....no idea what any of that was.

I tried No Country not once but twice and I couldn't get into it. life is too short to suffer through a film. i give it the first 20 minutes and if it doesn't intrigue me, I shut if off. Thankfully I haven't haad to leave a movie house. That would Really pi$$ed me off. All that money wasted on a film!

I would gladly pay someone if they can explain the ending of No Country for old men to me. I did sit through that whole movie, convincing myself that with the calibur of actors in it. I would end up enjoying it. Instead it ended up being like a bad song stuck in my head. I find myself thinking about it sometimes trying to figure out what I missed, to make the ending so out of my grasp.

The Titanic was all hype and no substance for me..the other movie everybody told me I would love was Seven Pounds..I hated that movie. I didn't even make it through 2001 and I tried it twice thinking I was the one missing something, I couldn't finish it either time. Dr. Strangelove was just a movie, it didn't make me laugh out loud.

There are 2 older Titanic movies that are excellent and I can't think if the name of either of them at the moment. Sarah probably knows which ones I'm talking about. One of them is in color and has a very young Robert Wagner, The other is alot older black and white film with Barbra Stanwyk. Both of those movies actually told real stories with characters more than one level deep. A good older diaster movie I liked was the Poseidon Adventure with Shelly Winters. And Earthquake with Charlton Heston.

Yep, one of them was "Apocalypse Now". In fact my husband and I left in the middle of it. Another one, which I DID watch all the way through and didn't think it was "awful" but I didn't see why it had been so praised was "Babel". I'm almost afraid to admit it, but another one I sort of felt that way about was "The Christmas Story". I saw "Dr. Strangelove" so many years ago I hardly remember it and I've never seen "2001 A Space Odyssey". Annie

I liked Apocalypse Now but if you aren't into Brando or war films , I can understand. I never saw The Christmas Story or Babel. I guess I didn't miss anything.
