There IS A Trojan Virus called Vundo.H On myLot!

I was here before reading a discussion about someone who thought they got a virus from myLot when they clicked on "Discussions". I left for a while and came back. When I clicked on "Discussions", sure enough, I was hit and it started downloading automatically without me touching anything, telling me I had viruses on my computer, blah, blah. I turned off my computer immediately. Did a scan with "Malwarebytes" and within 4 seconds it was found in my Registry. It is a Trojan Vundo.H......if you don't know what that is, google it. It's nasty! I've had it before and it's not the easiest to get rid of once it completely infects your computer. Beware and watch out! Hopefully, this will not be deleted.

Don't get too complacent. Even the best security software has holes. So still be careful. :)

Well, I had this virus a couple of years ago when I was using Norton Internet Security. Guess what. I know Norton might not be the best but they are still highly recommended till this day. My computer was infected with Vundo.H and found in 82 area's, from the registry on into just about everything else. Norton never found it once, but Malwarebytes found it all, everywhere. It took two times to rid my computer of it. It used to be called just Vundo, but then it upgraded itself and is now called Vundo.H.......which is worse than ever.

I don't know if what I experienced relates to this particular virus that you are talking about but this what I have experienced. Whilst posting away on My Lot the page would suddenly disappear and I would then receive a pop up that says something along the lines of 'your pc is seriously infected with a virus' and then it automatically opens up another window where a scan starts to take place. I close this window as quickly as possible to prevent the scan from taking place as I think if I allow it to finish then it will install some kind of virus on my pc. It's a shame that this is on My Lot, I don't know if the My Lot team are aware of this. This won't stop me from using My Lot though as I have an antivirus product already installed on my system. Hi gabs! So sorry I didn't get back to you on this but I was never notified of another response, grr. Thanks so much for the link, I can only say I'll give it a shot. I tried once before with another virus control and my computer couldn't handle the download. It's REALLLLLLYYYYYY old, haha, so I do have some problems, and I only have dial-up as that's all I can afford right now too. Sometimes it's just too much for the old girl to handle so I don't push it. I think I tried Kapersky and it wouldn't work for me. But, Thank you again!!

Hi Gabs! Well, it's been a few days and as soon as I found it I informed myLot, so I'm thinking that they took care of it. I wasn't the only one here that got hit with it. I don't have a anti-virus at the moment, can't afford it as I'm not working, but I do have the free download of Malwarebytes, thank goodness. Take care and thanks for reponding!

No reason for this to be deleted. I started one a few weeks ago about a virus or something called "Security Tool" that does basically the same as you describe. It was already all through my computer. I do not think I got it from MyLot, I think hubby opened something he should not have. My son was able to defeat it, and yes, used malwarebytes to eliminate it. We should all be cautious.

Hi Jill! Your welcome. I turned mine off immediately too, but then I scanned it with Malwarebytes and there it was! Right smack in the registry, so I'm glad I took the extra step.
