Im dreaming of running my own business. If I do,I will spare no effort to make it big or at least make more money than now.My free time is limited and so is my energy. Its just hard to start a business since my family hasn't run any business. And I dont have any experience on this line but Im very interested and always looking for a good chance. However, sometimes Im glad Im just an empolyee, because employers work really hard if they want to be successful. They never seem to have holidays and they sure have more worries. What about you?Do you run your own business or work for your boss?Which do you prefer? Pls share Cheers

Everyone wants to have autonomy at one point when it comes to financial matters. No one wants to work for another person forever . Speaking for myself , I'd rather run my own business than work for someone. If I get anything going fast and it's profitable , I'll stick with it.

Hmmm..., I prefer do for my own. I dont like a boss on my head. Everybody has limited time, and so is their energy. Why don't you start some part time work, which can need less time and less effort. When its run you can take it your full work. You join any MLM company, it's baged less energy, and less time. I have recently joined a MLM company. No one in family has run the business and I didn't have any experience about business. . But I have a business as part time beside my job. And I studied about it, how to approach people, how to help them, how to associate them with us. If You really interested to start a business, send a private message, I will send you all my business detail. Not dreaming ,but also do some work for your dream. At last I need to say to you: "To accomplish great things, we must dream as well as act." ..

Having your own business is definitely better and I wish you all the best in your endeavours. However, markets in general have become so risky that its quite difficult to predict which particular line will succeed and which will go kaput. Both hubby and me are working fulltime and I just know what you mean by having very little time for yourself. At the end of the day, we are both so overworked that we don’t even like it if our son clambers on our back *sigh* and then with the internet and mobile connectivity, there’s no way you can make any excuses at office and even the Sunday is not your own. My hubby is thinking very much to start his own taxi business sometime next year…we have a little money and maybe he will invest it. Its so difficult to start your own business if you don’t have family backing or experience, however we feel that taxis will never run out of customers…even then, we are quite in two minds…we’d be investing all our savings!

There are both pros and cons to running a business yourself or working for a boss instead. If you run a business, the pros are that you can get everything that you earn, and you run the place the way you want it to be run. Also, you can choose to hire employees and all that, so there are obviously no colleague arguments, and everyone will be extra nice to you. The bad side of running a business is that you might lose all your money, and there will be no one to support you, unless you have insurance. Working for a boss means that you may not like the boss, you don't earn as much as you want to, and there may be office problems. The good side is that there is financial security and you have a set payment every month. :)

As a fresh graduate, i would definitely prefer to work for a boss and acquire the necessary experience and capital, but in the long run, I'm very sure that I would love to run my own business.

I started running my own business about 8 years ago. I don't make as much as I did when I worked for other people but I work on my own time schedule and I do things my way, and I am able to be with my kids when ever they need me. I don't have to worry about getting off of work for doctors appointments or if I have errands or I am sick. I can go on vacation when I want. I really like working for myself.

Hi sweety et hot: I have never run a business but my brother did and what isee is that you need to make a marketing study just to be sure that you have the budget, to know the potential of your idea, the way you have to do those things, what to buy, where to go, etc. It definetly takes a lot of time to be ready for a market so competitive but it's better to have your own business that to be an employee forever. First you are your own boss second you take your own decitions and third you have some freedom about what amount you win every month. Come on, i think you should try to start your own business.

I always dreamed of having my own bakery when I was a kid. I thought it would be really fun to have a small bakery, like the downstairs of a house, and I lived in the upstairs. I wanted be the "boss," but still do some baking and stuff with the help of a couple employees. I still think that would be a really fun way to make a living, but of course I don't have any money and don't really know where to start. w

I wouldn't even consider it. You probably can do this only if you really want to and have the oppurtunity to do it. I think it's not only time consuming but also a waste of great oppurtunity you can put in something else, making money for example. Working hard will only get you into more trouble. Why are you working hard? To get more money. To get more money means to get more taxes and you are gonna spend it on things that will not make you money, so you lose money. I don't work for a boss, I think this is terrible and a waste of time, I will never try to work for a boss, I'm still a student but am already trying to make money so I don't have to work when I'm considered to work. I don't have my own business neither, but it's a good thing when you have people working for you so that money works for you when you are not physically present.

We run a family business. Our entire family of 5 works together to raise a kennel-free puppy adoption agency. We also do kennel rescues. Sure, it's a lot of work, but you get to spend time with your family, and not get worried about getting fired. We have a website where you can look at pics of the puppies. See them at: www.getadog.wetpaint.com. Check it out!

Of course my own business as I would like to become the boss and owner and at the same time i am the only one to profit for my success or to blame in cases it fails with without picking another person as the main culprit of its downsizing. Though, it requires q lot of savings and work before one could put a business with a hard earned money and to risk 100% is very dangerous. Though, it is part of being an entrepreneur one need to take the risk before success comes to the core. And, it is a good things to try but only the half money as having to start your own business could be compare to gambling their is a high risk of winning and losing at the same time. One need to do the market research before investing to secure the success of the business, identify the competitors as well as the target market. For the meantime if the money you have is not yet enough then it is best to save it in a bank with interest. While being an employee is also good as you only have to report to work and receive monthly salary, without worrying much. Though, being a lifetime employee is not a guarantee due to recession as lot of companies are doing the cost cutting. Though, it is still good to create your own opportunity if the other means of living fails, it is better to try and take a risk than never.

I always prefer doing own business to working for boss. It is noticed that no one can totally fulfill others needs and so boss will not satisfied towards you. If anyone wish to run business at his own risk and experience then he can do something new as there is nothing restriction.

Things all have tow sides, if work for the boss, maybe you'll get a very stable salary but will be limited, just be good at what you're responsible for, you won't need to worry too much if the company is keeping good. The problem is you can't earn big money like your boss does. To run your own business is not a easy job to do, usually much harder than just be a employee . You have to be responsible for the company, your employees or even shareholders. Also chance of failure is horribly high. If I have a good idea and possible to run it by myself, I would prefer do my business, if the chances is not ready, I will work for my boss, at least I have a job to make a living. hehe
