Hi, everyone. Hello, my dear fellow mylotters, Friends. [i]It's been a while now that I had been off and inactive with most of my friends' discussions. I think, this will continue for a longer time now, since I don't have my own system at home, and our internet is not continuously turned on during the day. But I am happy today, that we have a connection, so I can do some post now.[/] Let's discuss something that most of us are very familiar with. Yes, that's right, similar discussions. And just like this, I am not sure if this will remain up for long, as I also think that this might get deleted (just hope not, lol). We see a lot of repeated discussions. Thousand times posted by different members, like "what's your favorite blah, blah, blah", "i got pay by blah, blah, blah", "what do you mean by your username?", "what's you favorite blah, blah, blah?". But there is one similar discussion that I can say I get annoyed, something that says "It's kinda boring here at mylot now". I am not annoyed, exactly with the topic, but the fact that members get bored with mylot, at times. But what can we do to make our mylot times worthwhile? So can you give suggestions on how members stop posting similar discussions? What's your most annoying similar discussions read or posted?

Hi Neil, I like the change in avatar. I'm bored by answering similar discussions and we've had quite a lot of this one lately as well so just checking in to say hi, miss having you around so much and update on your boil situation please if you don't mind.Really hope it has cleared up now. If you aren't going to start a discussion on this lack of basic health care then I will. Let me know.

thanks for the avatar comment. i changed it just today. remember, i got a new software from Serif, which is PhotoPlus, a photo editor. this is one that i love to do way back... you are right, lately there are so much of similar discussions and it's kinda boring responding to them. i also do check my emails once in a while, before going to mylot. but since, there are lots of repetitions, i just read and delete them, and check in and out on here. i feel much better now, regarding my boil. i am going to start about the lack of health care, please do standby for it. i miss all my friends here, i miss mylot a lot...

I'm glad to hear you're going to do the healthcare one. I really think you should stress how minor things are not dealt with promptly thus leading to longer suffering, anyway I'm glad to hear its better. Zed has outdone you with his latest avatar, I requested the georgous Goran Visinjc, the Slovakian actor, and he's done it for today.I must go on a swoon

Hiya Neil.. nice avatar there, I like it.. You are right; for me, I find lots of similar discussions on whether mylot pays. I think that's a bit underrated for me, LOL.. but I do understand a new member's feelings especially, because they would be concerned whether a site they have first joined does pay. But what I have seen on a repetition is whether mylot is a legit site. It is definitely. Check out the mylot population..that is enough proof already..

you also have a nice new avatar zed, and thea said, gorgeous. there are really lots of these kinds of topics posted by newbies. and because they are new, we cannot just ignore them, but lead them, i guess. yes, i agree with you, our population is just as clear evidence that mylot is, a legit site.

Thanks, Neil.. I couldn't agree more with you. I feel like it can be up to my indirect responsibility to enlighten newbies with their concerns and questions. But sometimes, there are too much discussions to answer, so I just try my best wherever I can.

I would have to say that none of them really annoy me. I have seen alot of the same discussions being posted but I am happy to answer all of them because they are a little bit different and it makes my earnings and posts grow anyway.

well you have a point there, steph. although sometimes, it makes a tiring work to answer and post the same old response to all of them. have a great weekend ahead, my dear friend.

I have observed that too and I guess it will always be posted and posted..LOL! I have several topics posted when I was starting here, topics which I will consider "overused" LOL! Anyway, I am not responding to those similar topics and most of the are new members too!

Hello neil, So long my friend, good to see back again. Well, some mylotters feel bored becoz just like what you have wrote,seeing/reading same discussions makes them feel bored. And i guess posting same topic cannot be avoided since a lot of new members were signing in everyday, and, most of them(including me)doesn't find time to read the guidelines and, even the one who referred them did not dare give them some guidelines(that i think so) With regards with getting bored to mylot topic,it is really irritating. Instead of giving some inspiration to other mylotters and esp the newbies, this kind of topic gives bad impression to other mylotters.I hope other mylotters would stop posting topic like that. I do understand some get bored, then, they can stop for a while and do their things. We always get bored with other things not only mylotting...but still, after sometime,we're back to the things that we used to do. I can't think of any other ways of encouragement to make mylot more exciting. Posting and reading discussion and having inter-action with other mylotters is fine with me.It is just a matter of interests..and this is normal. So,no matter how much exciting an activity is,if,they don't have the feeling of enthusiasm,it's not worth for them...so let it be my friend.... I believe that, mylotters that get's bored are lesser in number than those who keeps mylotting and who loves doing mylot activities everyday. I miss your discussion anyway...good to see you again, have a nice day amigo

well, i can say, that even me, did not read the guidelines in the beginning. but we learned and we are still learning. one thing i have noticed, since we are more than 192,000 now, and more than 2M of discussions already posted, it is really so difficult to come up with a very unique topic and discussion. so, if only mylot will permit us, we could start more discussions but in consideration of the topics already there, copying should always be a No-No. i still can't find other ways to get back here often, only from the office. so if there is no internet connection here, there is no mylot for me, too

I don't think the repeating disscussions are boring,if you think that is boring, you can just close your eyes ignore that. The history of the human being are repeating itself.90% of the things that happing in mordern society have happened in the past history. And most of the people are just repeating themselves everyday. But we are making progess in the meanwhile repeating.A boxer will repeat his action everyday. So my opinion is that repeating is just our life. Why do we need to hate repeating, because we are becoming better by repeating and we are digging deep in discussion just by repeating.LOL

you are right bryan, this one great thing about mylot, to talk about everything, even non-sense. so if you want to do some non-sense topics, you can always check my created interest and start it there. : http://www.mylot.com/w/lists/13_553543/default.aspx

if you had just read the guidelines and the mylot rules, it is mentioned that similar discussions will get removed. it could just be a waste of time creating similar and repetitive discussions everyday, as it would be gone by the next day or two, and all the responses given by other members will also be deleted. a lot of people, especially the new ones, who seem to ignore the rules, get to wonder why their post numbers got down, as so as their earnings. so if repetition is going to continue, and we all do start similar discussions everyday, we all lose and earn nothing. life is another thing, there is no rule and restriction of acts we should and could do daily. the rule of life is to get fair with others.

just another thought , much ado about nothing , the mere fact that we are posting and responding to this thread is revealing in a way, isnt it ? Like talking about nothing is something to talk about,i see the irony here..which is another cool thing about My Lot,if you can write , have a view or even if you cant think of anything to post but start a topic around having nothing to say, quite likely that you ll get a response , and you do get a penny or a dime or cents for your thoughts.literally!

Good morning neil, nice to see u on here. I know exactly what u are talking about. Some of the discussions are ridiculous that people put on here. my all time worst one that aggravates me the most is when they ask which came first the chicken or the egg. WHO GIVES A HOOT TO START WITH, NOT ME.

The most annoying discussion I've come across many, many times is "What is your favorite ice cream flavor?" Does it even really matter? There are so many of these discussions it's a miracle that any stay posted for longer than a few minutes without being deleted. I remember awhile back there was someone here who was plagarizing other's posts. They had posted one about ice cream flavors and I KNEW I had seen that exact same discussion before, so I did a search. I couldn't believe how many discussions there were about our favorite ice cream flavors! There was at LEAST 10! I'll admit that I don't always do a search when I want to post a new discussion but it's usually because I doubt there are any other discussions quite like the one I want to post. But, if I have a specific question to ask, I'll do a search to see if anyone has already posted a discussion about it and if the answer to my question has already been posted. If I get bored with myLot, I just stop posting until I feel mentally energized again. You won't see me posting a discussion about your favorite kind of ice cream. Promise!

yes, marti, i've seen some of those topics about favorite ice cream flavor, but i don't know, i just ignore them. maybe, i am not just that interested about ice cream. maybe, they stay longer undeleted because no one reported about them. i think, we can always ignore similar discussions, like those of the ice cream flavors, but plagiarizing is another thing. i have seen some of them, and if you can remember, i had also discussed about that in the past. i hate to see people stealing our stuffs, our ideas. it would be fine to copy the idea, by starting a new one, posting it in different ways. but copying the entire discussion word for word is a big no-no. i also remember, we came across one member that really copied a lot of discussions. and we reported him. so not just the discussions were deleted, but also his account.

Yes friend, I've read this kind of post so many times already and I wonder if the poster realized that if if it's kinda boring here at mylot then why is he or she still staying and even posting a topic? Ha!ha!ha! At any rate, I don't really have interest in commenting over and over again to the same topic. And perhaps the best way to stop those annoying similar posts is to stop from responding to them. The problem however is there are still those who are responding and making those repetitive posts alive. Maybe because it does not require much effort to answer those kind of posts

you maybe right to that, my friend, if we stop responding to them, then similar discussions will be stopped from posting again. but then, how can we stop other people from responding to those topics? i guess, the site could be the one to initiate the screening of discussions, before it could be actually posted, making it sure that the topic to be pasted is now a repetition. just a thought.

The 2012 discussion which appear almost everyday here in myLot. Damn, I was so annoyed about this discussion. There are other discussions that appeared again and again especailly those discussion posted by newbies about how to get additional income on the net or other similar sites which can earn money. I do response to this type of discussion since I think many of us really needed some advice regarding it. But the 2012 issue had gone too far.

i've seen a lot of the 2012 discussions and all i did was to ignore all of them. i hate to talk about the end of the world and i thought they were all about it, so i never read one of them. when i was home one time, i saw the movie trailer, and that made me more uninterested with the 2012 topics.
