Do you decide to give an best response for your discussions initially or when you had some 20-30 responses. I think it would be good if we can decide on the BR when our discussion has dried up(stopped) receiving responses coz i think it would be a tough one to select the BR and the best one gets it which wouldnt be the case when we select it initially within the 10 responses. I havent given a Best response to any of your responses till now sorry about that and would select the BR to all my discussions after this one.

Hi Sunny! I have some best responses still to be awarded on discussions which are over a year old. They still keep receiving responses and there are several which are worthy of the BR. Then on other occasions I will award it almost immediately, but after a week, as there is already one that stands out from the others. I don't have a set time limit for awarding it and I surprised some last week after they saw that they received one after a year

you dont have to wait that long though with my BR MSD for sure but i would love take some time so that i would give it to the best ones. I think one would be a perfect host if he can choose the BR after he gets all the responses else it would be like being in the trans at that moment but we may get few other who can provide better response.gudd day.

I have taken note of your advice On the ones where a BR stood out from the others then I have already awarded it, on my discussions older than a few months. The more recent ones will take longer as there are so many worthy of it. When there are only a few pages of responses it is easier than when there are a lot more

yeah Diana,it would be very difficult for people like you who are very hot and obviously their discussion would be hot enough and get more than ton responses.people like me are really cool so we get atmost 40 responses which makes our job easier.

I think it's best to wait until you have quite a few replies before selecting a best response. To be fair about it, I guess. I think I've seen some where the best response was given to someone the same day the topic was posted. I just think you should give people time to actually find your topic and post. Like you said, when the responses start drying up, yeah, that would be a great time to start deciding I think.

hi Darthjustice,Even i came accross many discussions where they have selected the best response in the first 10 itself and some have given it in the first five.I think they look out for an particular answer and when any response matches with their view get an BR which not so good waiting till the last would be a good one. Thank you for responding.gud day.

Ah, I don't think I will wait for more respnses if I will get one which touches my heart. If you are the first one to respond and I felt that it touches my heart then you will be getting the BR then and there. I have several discussions where I hve more than 20-30 responses but still I haven't selelcted a BR because I am waiting for one which touches my heart!

I perfectly agree with your point that everyone should get a chance to become a BR responder but you know, I think more by heart than by my brain!

oh really then i would respond to your discussions and touch your heart with my response 20-30 catch you there sanuanu just kidding but i would try to respond though.many mylotters would do the same they would search an particular answer and then select an BR but guidelines says that one should wait for one week before giving the BR. why you do that in a hurry coz that response would be there with the discussion right you can even select that after you stop getting any responses or you have fear that someone else might come up with a better one and it would be harder for you to select one could you explain me about this

I'll think if there all great I'll not select on one person I decide when no body responding my discussions over six month then I give my BR to the longer respond. That was I do, and I don't always on.

hi may2k8,what if the two people comeup with the same response and both are really great and close to your expected answer then what you would do in this case or what if some one have given an excellent reply in the 20th response but till then you must have already selected one as BR.did you face this May.let me know how you would handle then would you go for the first one or think that it would have been better if i had waited.gud day.

I am not too sure about it that when is the best time to give it out. But in my view it could be the first that u get or might be possible none of them are the ones that you really like. Sometimes it seems that the conversation goes on and one even after the best response is given out.

hi Eddify, according to the guidelines one should give a best response after one week coz till then you would have sufficient responses to select from. I dont think best response here would help you to get more responses as well but there are few who would love to hang out at each others boxes rather than doing the routine stuff which is responding. Thank you for responding Eddify.Have a great day mylotting.

If I feel the response is the best for me I give out my best response mark to that responser. It depends of what response I really want to read and if that response I think will help me. I mark best response to those person who have experienced the same as my problem. Because they have been there I am sure what they are advising me is right. It depends on the topic and how I feel about the response. However when my topic has a responser but I don't feel that the accumulated response belongs the best response I will wait a week before marking the best response.

I try to go through my unresolved discussions once a week or so if I can and I will award BRs then. I like to wait at least a week because some responses come through for days afterwards. There is no time limit to award Best Responses as far as I know so whenever you get around to it is fine. I am sure people don’t mind. I have two topics that have been unresolved for seven or eight months and I can finally get to them soon!

Hi paula, wow you are so patent and keep track of all your unresolved discussions till i have started many discussions but i gave only one best response and i have to go through some 20 discussions which takes more time so that i can give the BR to the best response. Thank you for responding.gud day.

It is a tough call. In my first discussion initiated by me, I was in a hurry, and gave a Best Response as soon I found the response as very good, but later on, much better responses came and I was helpless. In my later discussions, I waited for Best responses, even though I got few Good responses immediately, but later on, I gave a Best response to one of the earlier responses. However, I do feel that you better wait for some responses to pour in, before you assign "Best" Response.

good that you learnt from your mistake coz every one stand a chance to get a best response so it would be better to offer it after your discussion has dried up.we have an chance to give a BR to the first response and to the last response tooso we can choose wisely who gave a perfect response.Thank you for responding.great day.

Hi Sunny, I still have some discussions that need to be revisited and assessed for best responses. I do not give BR at once. i wait for some more responses before deciding to give one. it's really a tough one whom to give the BR.

you're right friend. i will really devout a time to check on my friends responses to choose from among them who deserve a BR. Why not, i can give you one if it's the best --you deserve one.

Hi Sunnycool, when I start a discussion, I usually have an opinion of my own, and I want people to tell me whether I am right or wrong. I am open to reasoning. If I find merit in somebody's opinion / response that either confirms my opinion / belief more strongly, or is able to influence me away from it, i.e., makes me re-examine my views, then I give them the BR, because that is what I was looking for. In so far as general discussions are concerned, for example recycling ideas, I select the one which I liked and am able to implement. :) Likewise, if anybody gave me recipes, I would select the one I found best in taste. :) Of course, I would try to prepare them. :). When do I give them, as soon as I find they meet the above criteria. The idea is to let others who are coming in to at least read that response, and if possible present their views. If their views are superior, then I still have the rating tool in my hand, isn't it? When there are multiple responses that seem to be equally good, but they have nothing different to offer, in the sense, they are same in opinion, then I choose the one that has been presented briefly. There are cases when I have not given best responses. That is because I have yet to be convinced with the arguments. :(

Obviously, the moment I come across the responses meeting the criteria, I give tbe BR. It is also fresh in the memories of those who have responded to it. And therefore, they can go and check what this person's view has been. :)

Hi sunny!I rarely start discussions but whenever I do, I usually give out best response after a week of posting it but I had 2 of my discussions "resolved" when I was starting here. I guess one week would be good enough to give it to someone who deserves it. But at times it depends. If I can't see anyone who gives best response for the topic yet,(I have a discussion that only have 3 respond on it) I'll wait til someone could respond the best one Happy lotting!

The number of responses I get has absolutely nothing to do with when I give a BR. I usually wait about a month before awarding the BR but if one response really grabs me or gives me exactly what I was hoping for in a response then I do not wait long usually just a couple of day.

Honestly, I usually give it at least a week before I give the Best Response. I think it is only fair to give my friends an opportunity to answer my discussions before I choose which one is best. I hardly ever get 30 responses to any discussions - maybe I don't have enough friends or something. But I don't think it is good to give it away after one a few hours or on the same day. Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

I have discussins that are several months old, and I have as yet to give the best response, but I will one of these days. Mylot wants us to wait at least a week to give best response, as it give others a chance to respond, that ma have not done so as of yet, and you might get better responses by waiting than if you give it right away. Actually, the more time you give it, the better I think. It just doesn't make sense to give it right away, as to me that isn't fair to everyone else. I have bee given best response after just a few hours, and I appreciate it, bt I wish they had waited, as they really didn't give others a chance to have a better response than I did. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

I prefer to wait a few weeks to give the best responses. I do not understand why some people give them after only a day or so as they may not have gotten their best response at that time! This has reminded me to go and hand out some BR's that I have been meaning to get around to. I just went through some that were around a month old and did them. This could also spark some fresh interest in the discussions!

i consider giving a best response when,(1) either i am up with a good challenge and i had to just give it cause this person is into it,(2)if i had alot of responses i wait until its all done with then i run through again and give it to the one that is the best of all
