Do you think scrapbooking is meaningful?

Will you give it a try if you had a chance to do a simple layout? Here's one of mine to share. I did it for a challenge, which is what they call mini-competitions. The challenge was to do a layout based on squares and stitching. Which is why you see so many squares and stitches. I do scrapbooking cos I think it's meaningful, and something that my kid can look back on. it also combines my desire to do something artistic. an outlet, somewhat. There are classes that teach simple layouts, and cost about $35 for 3 hours. I tried that and was hooked ever since. :) Will you consider doing a layout? What ocassion will you chose to scrap about?

I guess getting that one of a kind, unique gift for a love one is what spurs them to go into scrape booking. It is getting tougher and tougher to find that something special in the shop these days. And using your own creative mind and hands is THE only way to get something really unique for that special occassion!

yes that would be interesting. most people do scrap pieces from current photos and try to 'keep up' with the new photos that they take of their children etc. but sometimes we scrap old old photos like of our parents when they got married, when we were kids etc... those are cool!

I did a lot of scrapbooks when I was still in school. Mum never really like me to go out and work during the school holidays, so I got plenty of time to do scrapbooks. Now a days, I just jot down some ideas in my little notebook of ideas, and then try to make those projects when I am free. I am more into making digital scrapbooks of late. Editing pictures and making scrapbook layouts. Makes less of a mess compared to traditional scrap booking!

Most of my layouts are relatively simple, although some are more of a creative nature...they are a mix of everything, which I believe adds to their specialness. I certainly don't want to spend hours on all of my layouts so once in awhile a simple layout is in order!
