Do you understand the stock market?

I listen to the news everyday. They always talk about the stock market. I have to admit, I rarely understand what they are talking about! Do you have the same types of problems? I know I could take some time to learn more about it, but there never seems to be enough time in the day!

To an extent. I learned all about it my first year in college but to be completely honest I have forgotten a lot of what I learned. I know that it can be really dangerous and costly and I know you have to pay taxes on any gains even if you lose them the next day. No thanks I will keep my money in mutual funds and money markets and let someone else handle it.

I understand some notions which are enough to keep track of what's happening, but it's not my field. I don't have any experience to see the variation tendancy of each stock.

The basic concept is to buy low and sell high, isn't that what has been said for forever. But of course that is not easy to do. Many buy a hot stock that has had a big runup and then are stuck with and overvalued stock and many people hang on to a loser too long. I have had good results and bad results, anyone who claims to always make money on the stock market is lying. One has to do research and figure how much risk they can bear and invest accordingly. As this recent recession has shown even some of the large and established companies can have problems but still ones in that category are usually the safest.

No I do not know anything about the stock market. I listen when they tell about it on the news but I do not know what the numbers mean. Maybe one day I might read up on it to see what all the numbers mean.

I knew its all about money, money and more money. I know that when you invest your money into stocks, it will earn something back. I don't even know if this will be categorized as the basics. But one thing I know, that whenever there's money involve, better to talk to the experts. Better to have advices than plunging in to this kind of investment.

I don't understand anything about the stock market. All I know is it controls how the economy works and adjusts to money. I can't help you here.

I only know little about the stock market but I want to know more. It's wise to invest in stocks but you have to known what you're going into before taking the plunge. Learning more about the stock market will at least equip you in dealing with stock investments.

I understand the very basic, and when I hear someone explain some complex concept I can pick it up quickly, but it is not intuitive or natural for me. It's OK not to understand it though, there's a reason only the super-smart make money off of it...it's confusing. The market is so complex, and 99% psychological that it takes tremendous brains, intuition, and skill to make any money in it. Cheers!
