What do you think about bluray?

When DVD first came out, it was just VHS and Laserdisc. They both had analog picture and Laserdisc had slightly better picture. I remember being extremely impressed with DVD especially compared to VHS. I saw a movie at an electronic store back in late 1997 and I was amazed at how clear the picture was. I slowly realized that it was not VHS. (VHS couldn't possibly be that clear) I figured that it must be DVD.
Now, Bluray is out, yeah the picture is clearer and sharper and the resolution capability is more than 2x of DVD but I just wasn't impressed. I just think that its merely a clearer more colorful DVD picture and not the revolutionary picture improvement some people make it out to be.
Are any of you impressed with Bluray?

I think bluray is really awesome. The picture is amazing for movies, and just as importantly, it allows for bigger, cooler, more complex, better looking video games. Also, I have the show Planet Earth that Discovery Channel made, and it looks AWESOME o bluray, I mean like really unbelievably breathtaking. It really does make you realize how cool the earth is lol. I do understand that Bluray is just getting started. I remember the earlier DVDs and while I was impressed with them, they looked nowhere near as good as they did 10 years later. I wonder how bluray will look in the same or similar timeframe, especially with the possibility of 50 layers or is it 100.
I know sooner or later, (hopefully sooner) I will get a Bluray.

Honestly, Im not a huga fan of blueray - i think its a waste. I mean, I guess its cool and all but is that really needed. The neccessity of it is strange and people just jump on it like monkeys. I still prefer just DVDs,

hard to say for me. I am a movie maniac but I do not have a blue ray player
but my brother in law has and he is like me movie addicted and his opinion is that blue ray might be the future and burries one day the dvd
well this might be, but Iam still proud of my dvd collection and guess what my blue ray fan-brother in law just got himself a laser disk collection + 2 players on ebay!!!...how funny is that
