ben and jerry's free ice-cream?

for quite a long time now, there's been an annual ben and jerry's free ice cream day. this is no strings attached free ice cream cones. i love it, but sometimes the queues get really long. last year, my friends and i thought we'd start queuing after lunch hour to beat the office lunch crowd. but we forgot that we'd be stuck with the student crowd, cos school was out by then! so we queued for 45 mins. but were rewarded with two cones each cos we each had a baby with us, and they counted for another cone (which they obviously couldn't eat so you can guess where that extra cone went - into the gluttony mama's tum tums). what's your ben and jerry free cone queuing experience?

I have heard about the Ben&Jerry's free ice cream day. But have yet to go and queue for a free cone yet. I guess the queues would be long as Ben&Jerry's ice cream are pretty good. Unless we happen to be around one of their outlets during the free give away, I don't think we would make a special trip down just for a free cone. Too lazy to queue up lah... old man liow, tiring to stand too long!

They do this??? I never even knew! Are you allowed to pick your own flavor? If so, I would choose Chubby Hubby! That flavor is so good! The pretzels... oh yum. I really like it, if you can't yet tell!

No wonder the queue gets longer. Ben and Jerry should have known better to give out the extra cone... But for 45 mins, you get 2 cones instead of 1, it might be worth while. lol. I would not queue unless the ice-cream is a special and unique "edition".

I've never even heard of such a day. I guess Ben & Jerry's just isn't as popular across the pond here in the UK (though it is still very recognized). However, from what I'm hearing in this discussion, getting free Ben & Jerry's cones sounds very unappealing, and I could not imagine waiting nowhere near the sorts of times being mentioned in this discussion simply for a single cone of ice-cream (unless of course, it was ice-cream produced by God himself and handed down from the heavens above)

This is the first time I have heard about this and am really excited about it. I am going to find the nearest Ben and Jerry's ice cream parlor. When do they have this annual free ice cream day? I hope it hasn't already past. As for the line, that is to be expected, especially when it comes to free ice cream. In fact I would have only been surprised if you had said that there was no line or a small line. Can you choose any flavor or do they limit it to only a few?

Hi there, I haven't seen a Ben & Gerrys Ice cream day in my area but if there was one I would surely be there. My favorite one outta all of them though is the cheesecake ice cream. MMMMM, makes me drool just thinking about it

I don't know if I have ever tried their ice cream or not. I know that we do not have any local around this area. I think I may have tried it from our local grocery store though. I'm not really sure.

I think i saw the promotion too, about 2 years ago when i'm in great world city.. haha =D However, there's no queue there, which i find it surprising.. lol =D BUt i din get the free ice cream either, as i was going for movies and thus it's not possible for me to bring that in.. hehe ^_^ I do like ben & jerry's ice cream, because it's nice, but also expensive!! lol =D So with free deals like that, i wont miss it when there's the right chance, or i happen to be in the right place.. haha =D

I don't even go to these places anymore. I used to go every year until I realized it was a waste of time to sit for hours just to get an ice cream cone. My latest experience was this: I went to ben and jerry's to get a free ice cream, and the line lasted all the way to the other side of the street. It took at least 2 hours to get there but luckily i was prepared with a small chair and my iPhone. When i finally got to the front of the line, they told me they were all out of ice cream and to sign up for a "rain check". You are lucky that you only had to wait 45 minutes.
