Here in Las Vegas the Hotel rooms are so cheap right now it makes me wanna just take a little vacation book a room and play tourist. There are a few Hotels like the "Excalibur, Circus Circus and some others that have rooms starting at $22.Wow!!! If this was summer time I would get a room for 3 for days lay by the pool get room service and have me a little "Staycation". That's a vacation at home. Have you ever just wanted to get away from your busy home life and just stayed at a local hotel just to relax?

Hi Missybear, I like that. Congratulations! You made it--giving yourself a breat and a treat is o good self care. it's nice to be out of our home from time to time and have a new place to relax. the hotel rate is really cheap. it's a great deal. me and my husband did it too --a get away stay out of the house for a break. we need to give ourselves time together. we deserve a break together. the last time we did it was the eve of new year in 2004.

I would love to go for New Years since I'm off but the room rates jump to $300 and up.

that's very expensive. it's not practical then. but if you really want to have a break for yourself why not? it's not the price but it's how you got from your vacation---the quality of rest and recharging you've got from staying there even for a night!

i have done that a number of times,i feel a need for break from my routine and it should be expensive also!!i love the idea of being waited upon and doing nothing for a couple of days which includes not making my bed also.

I used to do housekeeping in Hotels. I can't help but make my own bed before leaving the room.

Hey missy! That does sound rather nice! Maybe if I lived in an exciting place like you do in Las Vegas I might! But, living in Yonkers, NY in Westchester County where the prices of a room probably start at over $100 a night and the ones that are less are those sleezy check in and out "no tell motels" I think I'd pass! I'd much rather sleep in my nice clean cozy bed, watch our DVD player, raid our refrig and make believe we are someplace else! I guess it's not as much fun where we live! If we really wanted to get away, I think we would just have to get away and it would cost quite a bit! I am hoping to maybe go to Atlantic City sometime next summer! Now that would be fun!

Yes I have..I have actually stayed at a tourist spot near where I live just to get away without going far. If I lived there I would be cashing in on those great places. They are very reasonable too.
