I thought I may have had it the other day, but my fever went away. I guess it was just due to the climate. I suppose there is no concern for those living in very cold climate cities and countries, but for those in other places this time of year, Dengue fever should still be a concern. Here are some interesting points on dengue. 1 -Dengue is the fastest growing vector-borne disease. The World Health Organization estimates that there are around 50 hundred million dengue infections a year. 2- It has now spread to South America, Africa, and South Asia, and even parts of Australia. 3- It used to be a rainy season problem, but now there are cases year round. 4- Experts say that the specific mosquito that carries dengue is one of the most adaptable mosquitos on the planet. 5- Scientist say that the virus keeps evolving and mosquitos keep adapting. These are some interesting facts. Scientists are working on cures but because of the adaptability of the virus and mosquito, it is hard to eradicate either of them. I think the best thing to do if mosquitos are a problem where you live is to make sure you always have some sort of mosquito repelent in your house and on your body. What do you think?

Just like malaria, dengue is also carried by mosquitoes and until now, scientist wasn't able to totally eradicate malaria. They just developed medicines to cure them and not something that may kill those mosquitoes.

That`s interesting fact. I got dengue TWICE!!Never again!!Thanks GOD i wasn`t hospitalized, because I didn`t want to and all rooms in most hospitals were fully booked by dengue patients!!last year almost all of our family member got dengue: My mom, sister, brother in law and I got dengue after my mom was hospitalized for 5 days. I didn`t want to burden my dad and thanks GOD we didn`t get a room in that hospital. I ate a lot, took a rest and after 2 weeks, I started to feel better and start my activity again..
