Mine's Mortal Kombat. I know it's kinda silly but the fight scenes are great and love the characters and the soundtrack. Then Silent Hill. It captured the feeling of the games. The first Resident Evil movie was also pretty fun but wasn't really close to the game series. Also Final Fantasy Advent Children was alright. Nice fighting scenes with great characters but not much of a story. It really felt more like a game than a movie. Which one movie adaptation of a videogame is your favorite?

I would have to go with Laura Croft Tombrader. Angelina Jolie is just so hot, it's an irresistible movie. Plus she kicks butt, not many girls can pull that off. It's a good movie and very interesting. One of the only movies I've seen thats been better then it's video game.

Hey I remember you from "coolest female character" thread. You're the one who misspelled Lara's name and you did it again. Here name is Lara :)

I liked all the films you mention but I would have to agree with you with Mortal Kombat being one of my favorites just a pity the sequel was not as good, it did have some great fight scenes and everytime I see it, the title theme tune always gets stuck in my head. I loved seeing Scorpion and Sub Zero, just for the cool factor they have.

I think I've read that all ninjas were actors from original movie and one of them was taekwondo world champion

I hated the sequel but I liked the series (Mortal Kombat Conquest). The fights were always spectacular and full of awesome acrobatics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CttLB5z_Bzo

I have only recently seen the series as Zone Horror over here has been showing it every night, overall it is pretty good so far. Anything with some good martial arts gets the thumbs up in my book

I would have to say Mortal Combat too. The fight scenes were awesome and since it stayed pretty close to the video game it was done right.

Don't trust the evil spelling checker. It's actually called Mortal Kombat, even tho it's grammatically incorrect. Those guys seem to really have the letter "c" (you can chose the mode "Konquest" etc)

Oh this is a good one, and i have lots of favorite movies that are based on games. I like Resident Evil, as i am a fanatic of the game and i merely finish all of it's games, that is why it became a favorite movie of mine, when it came out. I also love final fantasy just like you, cause i love rpg games and that is the first rpg game that i have played. Silent hill is also a hell of a movie, not only because of it's story and the game, but also because of it's very good SFX (speciall effects). And a new movie called Assassin's Creed, that is also based on an RPG pc game. That is all i can share with you, have a great day!

The resident evil movies, were my favorite. I agree that the story was different, but it took a good game and made it into a good movie. The far cry movie was decent, but could have been a little better.

I found Tomb Raider movie really disappointing. Expected a cute version of Indiana Jones but they put some story that hardly made any sense. The second one was even worse.

I would have to say that Resident Evil is probably the best videogame turned into movie. They did an excellent job putting the games graphics into the movie I thought. I think it would be awesome if they made a movie for the game Fallout 3 for xbox 360.

Mine are Dragon balls. i love when they fight at the house..no punch can defeat 7 peoples.the storylines are okay.the fighting and power seems real and the graphic is da bomb..so my rate for dragon ball evolution is 9.5/10 the 0.5 percent more is the story doesnt show us a good clear why he can see things in dragonball

This is an interesting discussion and I am definitely a big gamer and when it comes to movies based on a video game I guess I would have to say that my favorite is Mortal Kombat as well because it has some kick butt fighting and it is always fun to beat the snot out of other people, even though now I am more into shooting games and war games, and stealth games, right now one of my favorites is Assassins Creed but I like playing Mortal Kombat every once in a while.

Hmmm...I haven't really thought of it. Usually, it's the worst ones that always comes to mind first. As for the good ones, there was the Lara Croft: Tomb Raider movie, the first Resident Evil movie, and of course Mortal Kombat. Or I can be cheesy and choose the Double Dragon movie. I remember liking that one as a kid. It's probably a good thing that I haven't seen that one in years though. I'd probably end up hating it.

I would have to say Street Fighter for me. The adaptation from video game to movie is pretty good. But not only with movies but video games as well, a story has to be written in order to create the story line in the game. So of course as we know the story was already there, but someone thought it would be better as a video game first, which with some is very true, others.... errr ummm I think the movie should have been done first.

Haha I really didn't expect someone would say Street Fighter. People usually think it's one of the worst videogame movies ever. It's a pretty good comedy tho:) And I must admit that I liked it as a kid.

Yea mine is mortal kombat also. It was a great game and pretty good movie. So far most movies based on video games are just... i dont know, doesnt make sense. I liked Hitman but I still dont know what it was about. What happened at the end lol....is there gonna be a sequel. I think they making a gears of war movie i cant wait for that.

for movies and games well sometimes they don't come out that great. but there are a few that do come out nice. my favorite would have to be resident evil. I first played resident evil for the PlayStation one. O the good old days. now them movies are really great, maybe not for the last one, but wasn't to bad. yeah and mortal Kombat is really good also. when I was a kid I did like double dragon, and super Mario brothers. weren't the greatest but made due, not only that it was still the born of video games.

Does it have to be an offical movie? Like in the theaters? If not, I'd say MapleStory. Some people can make simple pixels the next thing you wait for in your life.
