I have seen this question so many times over the net, even here in myLot. But I had never responded any one of it. But this time I would like to revive this discussion and proud to be the one to give my tips as I had published on one of my articles in the other sites. The following tips will help the reader gain confidence and practice the basic rules and fundamentals in writing a good article without a sweat. On whatever type of article you are writing on, there are three basic rules on writing. It is called the "ABC's" of good writing. A - is for ACCURACY. Every article involves a presentation of facts, not opinion. There must be no room for the person being written about to deny the story, or for the reader to question what he reads. Accuracy is commonly observed on news reporters as they not only inform the reader or listener but gives them the exact factual events of the news. B - is for BREVITY. An article should be as factual as possible. Remember the basic formula is writing: Start at the beginning. State all the necessary facts. Add your personal experience. And end your article. C - is for CLARITY. As much as possible, use language that the reader understands. Don't use big words to impress the reader. Instead use words that will inform the reader. Now, can you give your tips too?

Those are very important tips that you have mentioned and I personally enjoy writing and take immense pleasure from it. I guess in order to become a better writer it's important to keep on writing and writing and writing. I would also recommend that the aspiring writer becomes an avid reader. I think if you love reading then this tends to reflect in your writings! I love writing fiction, well let's just say that I have just started on my fiction writing experience. If you are writing something that is based on facts then yes, it's vitally important to carry out research and make sure that all the facts are obtained. However, if you are writing fiction then you can use all that imagination within the deepest confines of your mind!. Andrew

There are a lot of ways to better develope your writing skills. Be sure to sign up with different writing forums to get tips from other published writers. I have published voer 325 articles over the internet and am constantly on the look out for ways to improve my writing skills. 1) If you aren't good with the english language or writing in the english language, look into different writing classes from American writers. This will help you to improve your writing skill a great deal. Writing is about making sure that you use the correct grammar in your sentence structure. This will help you to improve your meanings and definitions within your sentences. 2) Do writing practices several times a day. There are a lot of great ways to practice. For example writing a 1,000 words about an object. Describing it in full sentences using your senses of taste, touch, sound, sight. You can actually do writing practices right here on Mylot to help improve your skills as well. 3) Work on research for a subject that interests you to write about. For example, if you are interested in sports check out some of the websites that talk about sports. A great one to review is ESPN. You will find a lot of articles about many different sports and not just about the sports played here in the United States but, in other countries as well. 4) Relax and enjoy writing. Be creative come up with characters for stories. It is a good idea to create different characters if you find that you are drawn to write fiction. Set yourself up with a notebook to keep new characters in that you can use for different stories. Happy Writing

Try to write something every day. That is the best thing you can do for your writing skills. The rest will come naturally. Good writing can not be forced.

Hi, You have pretty much given a great ABC way to write good articles. One can combine your ABC style with three more things that form the body of the article: One, introduce the subject; Two, discuss it; and Three, conclude (or summarize) it. You seem to have good ideas on writing, please keep sharing your other ideas too. thank you.

Well, you have given your ABC (accurately, briefly and clearly, I have to say), so here is my 123: 1) Say what you are going to say. 2) Say it. 3) Say what you have said. At least that works for the best factual writing - and for public speaking. If you think about it, with a little adaptation, it works quite well for fiction as well. 1) Set the scene and pose a problem 2) Use the scene and the problem (and a number of other ingredients) to wind your way to a place where you ... 3) Recap on the scene, the problem(s) (and the other ingredients) and come to a resolution

Hi Full! I appreciate your post and tips given therein. It is always better to narrate an article in a simple and smooth manner, so that others could understand easily and they could relate to it. I believe that there is always scope for improvement and one should try to keep improving his/her writing skills by writing more articles. Writing is an art and if one is good at it, s/he can win many hearts.

I have improved my writing skills in English over years. So, I can give you some tips regarding improving writing skills. Social networking websites like Mylot helps you to improve your wiriting skills. Please don't believe that everybody writes good English. First of all, you need to read a good English newspaper daily to improve your vocabulary. Write emails to your friends or family inorder to improve your English. Once you learn how to write English without mistake, please try to improve the quality of English. Also, try to talk to people in English. When you talk, try to include the new words you learned so that it will be part of your set of words and you will start keep using them.

Ok, I'm more of a creative writer, but I've learned the best writers also read a lot. Read, read, and read some more. It helps with your grammar and your vocabulary. It helps me in writing plays, short stories, fables, poetry, etc. Even though I may choose not to use correct grammar in some places, it helps me to get the reader's attention. The only other thing I would say is find your voice and make sure its unique. Like I said, I'm new to the article writing thing, so I don't know if this will help. I'm new to mylot and I need to fill up space :-)
