Hello friends...I just want to share my feelings towards my computer. Nowadays, all I think about is this thing. Everytime I go to bed, my mind is telling me to stand up and use my computer. It really sounds so strange because it never happened to me before. I just bought my pc more than 2 months ago and I just feel like I am already addicted to it. I used computer everyday, especially after waking up from bed and before going to bed too. I just want to stop this compulsion of using computer every hour, every minute of the day. How about you, have you ever experienced what I am experiencing right now? And, if yes, what did you do to get rid of this?

You are not an Exception pentagan every one of us goes through this and i am one step forward to you coz i get dreams too that i have earned some dollars or i have won an online jackpot and i am so addicted to my PC that it would run for almost 17-18 hours a day and i miss it so much that i cannot bear a minute without it.but try to understand that computer isn't our life and it doesnt help to make shelter, food too it only helps you to make some extra dollars so do not get into the vrtual world and concentrate on your real life too.As its been only 2 months since you bought your PC you might think that i am speaking BS but int he coming days you would realise that online sites are part of enjoyment but not our life.hope you get this friend.gud day.

Hi. Thanks for leaving a comment here. I know that I also have to live a life outside this so-called virtual world. But, sometimes it's really very difficult. I enjoy every single minute of doing something on my computer. Thanks anyway for your comment. I will try to do something about this problem.

Even I am addicted to computers. Using the internet I can sit continuously for hours. Sometime for 18-19 hours. I know its not healthy but what to do. Working 9 hours in office and the 3-4 hours at home, itself makes it more than 10 hours a day on computers!!

Yes, you're right. We really have something in common so i understand your situation too. But let us just try to work on it. Let us try to keep ourselves busy with other things. I believe we will be able to control it soon. I hope so. ;-)

I used to hate computers and now I love computers. I got my first computer in the half price deal for teachers. Then I got my laptop. Next I got my net book. I have to spend time with other interests as well. When I go traveling I miss computers and in some locations I find a computer to use. I suggest you write a list of ten other activities that you would like to do than spend time on your computer. Some activities suitable for me: Reading, writing, caring for my children, walking my dogs, going out for the day, gardening, scrap booking, photography, swimming, cycling and trekking. How about you?

HI damojinghong: I know the reasons we love so much to stay in a computer as I have mentioned and it's good that with the time we can control our habit and remember that there are other kind of activities that are good for us and that even if using a computer is fun for us there are some other things to do in our day. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day. -Alvaro.

pentagan12,When i bought my latop one and a half years ago,i addicted to it too like what you do now.And now i still use my computer everyday as i should get information from internet and process data for my research. But i don't addict to it as I have no idea about what should i do with my computer after i finish my work. What do you use your computer to do:play games or watch moives?Don't stay with your computer in your leisure time.Go out and meet your friends or just have a walk.Distract your attention on computer. Best wishes for you.

Hi pentagan: I have experienced the same thing you are describing and it's easy to find out why: everything is much easier with a computer and an internet connection, you find almost everything, you watch videos, read interesting subjecs and news and you find everything you like but addictions are not good for us. You can plan what yoy need to do on your day just to control that you will not only be in front of your computer. I think that if you know that you should not only stay in your computer everything will be alright. Thanks for asking us this question. Have a nice day. -Alvaro.

Its not uncommon when you get something new to not want to put it down. I'm the same way when ever I upgrade my cell phone. However, moderation is key. If you are feeling as if you're spending too much time in front of the computer, then you have to do other things and give yourself a break. If you have to schedule time to be on the computer once or twice a day. Any meals should be eaten away from the computer. This prevents neverous surfing and it helps keep bugs away from your work space. You don't want bugs because they can cause damage. Schedule activities outside the home if you have to. Offer to do the grocery shopping (if you can) or offer to go with who is. Visit a park, search for free activities that can be done outside the home. your local government probably has a website. Get involved so you don't have time to glue yourself to it.

A way to get rid of this addiction is to keep other interests. So that you will want to do something else instead of always sitting in front of it.Develop other interests. My mother used to scold me as i was sitting for hours on the computer.I soon realised this and wanted to take something else as my interest.Soon i started to like playing soccer and cricket. This made me lose my interest on computers, and then,i was hardly sitting in front of the computer for an hour or so.

i think many people are experiencing that kind of situation. i have a friend worse than that i told him two choices. you can take it if you want, if you think you are that addicted to computer you can try to make money out of your bad habit.there are a lot of ways to earn online in that way there some advantages with your addiction, or try to schedule outdoor activities like; going out with friends, night life, travel, work outside, then try not to be addicted with your new habit if you'll have one

It is a big problem for me too. What i find helps, is to set a limit-decide how much time a day or a week i will spend on the internet. When the limit is up, i have somebody in my family hide the internet wire from me-even take the wire out of the house. If i know the internet is disabled and i just cant get on it, then i don't think about it so much. Lately, i havent asked anyone to hide the wire though, and i really should. You might want to try something like this. Decide how much time per day you want to spend on the internet. Elect a family member to pull out the wire, remove the batteries or whatever it takes to disable the internet, and hide it. Best if it's out of the house. Another idea is to only go online at the library. Get rid of the internet at home. Never go online right before bed. If you're addicted, you will find yourself staying up late, not realizing how the time is moving. You'll be tired the next day.
