Okay my problem goes like this I have a job and my mother told me she will get me a motorcycle worth 35k but she gave me consequences if she got that motorcycle for me I won't get a single penny anymore from her, and then she gave me choices instead of getting motorcycle she asked me if I want to go and have a small business to make the money fruitful. if you we're me what will you choose? and why? I calculated how much will I save from my fare going to my job and home it's a bit small only 400 pesos. I want to know your opinion regarding this situation if you we're on my shoe. Thank You So much!

Zaphan I have to say go with the small business, why. well with that business it could grow, you could probable by two of them bikes you want to get. with what job you have you would still have to have gas money, insurance, payments for registration or maybe get a cheaper bike.

do you have any business that can be started with 30k?? if you we're planning what it is?? yeah it's kinda awkward spending it on gas and the insurance, registration and etc. but it will save money for the fare, and you'll never be late if you have your own, that's the things running on my mind,

nice idea! it depends on my hobbies right, but it's a bit scary to compromise the money, my wife is thinking of a business, and I too.

I would have to say you could open a business as to something you enjoy. you like bikes how about learning how to fix them and have a mechanical shop and fix them for a good business. you really need to think about what you would want in a business and what do people want from a business.

hi Zaphan,if i were you i would have used it for a small business and then reap some good profits and i would have gifted my mom an golden ornament as an gift for her investment for my business. If you buy a bike then you need to spend some money on its maintainance(fuel cost, taxes) so starting a business would help you buy a bike some time later in the next year if not now but it would be of your hard earned money and you would be in a position to bear all your expenses which is not the case now if i am not wrong.Hope this would be helpful and take an wise decision.good day.

hey were you asking about an online business or an offline one.If you are planning for an online one than they go for the bike its better coz "Something is better than Nothing".Coming to offline one i am not the correct one coz i am not aware about the kind of businesses at your country.Try to start with a small one and then try to elaborate it rather than pouring all the money at once so you dont have to face a drought situation later.good luck friend

Maybe the motorcycle will save you a bit of gas, but isn't it primarily a toy? Unless you have not means to get to work other than the motorcycle. If the business will give you a shot at financial benefits 4 to 8 years down the road, that is likely the correct choice.

If you have a job and if your mother is not going to give you a single penny after she gets you a motorcycle, then what's your problem? Aren't you going to get paid from your job? I understand your situation here. First and foremost, it depends on what you want to do in life, and what you want to do for money. Do you want to start a business? Are you good as a businessman? Will you be able to make enough if you ran a business? Are you street smart? There are so many things you need to look into... Well, if I were in your shoes, I would have accepted the money for a bike, and probably if it was a well-paid job, then I wouldn't have bothered if she would give me anymore money or not. On the other hand, if I really had ambitions of becoming a self-employed person, then I would have started a business on my own also... Probably, I would have started something with the stock exchange or something or maybe started a business with artifacts or selling textile garments or cloths from other countries... Well, you need to be creative enough to know what you want to do as a businessman. :-)

I am not worry if I don't get penny after she give that thing for me, What I am thinking is how to stabilize the way of our living, to make the money roll and not run. My job is good enough but I am thinking of having a sideline to earn, or to have a bike to save little penny from my fare. both have their advantage and disadvantage that is why I am collecting opinions from others if what they are thinking.

Parents make us take this kind of decisions because they want to teach us to be responsible about money and learn to decide. In your case I wouldn't take the motorcycle, as a motorcycle involves a lot of expenses, like insurance, revisions, gasoline, etc, and you will need a lot of money for that.

I am reaching for an advise from mylotters if what will I take, a small business or a motorcycle from my mom, yeah your right I shouldn't be getting money from my mom anymore but it's her gift to us a starting capital for my family. your English is understandable but I don't know too if I am in a correct grammar. I learned english by listening to English musics and reading English books, watching english movies, they will all help you out to learn English. Your from china, I had watched the show in Discovery Channel regarding Chinese learning the English language. I like the perseverance of the people there, they spend almost whole day learning it. Good for them. practice makes perfect.

Obtain assets not liabilities.Assets increase in value over time. Liabilities do not. How much money will you lose on the motorcycle after just one day? Ater one year? After 10 years??? Sounds like the motorcycle is a liability. Instead of buying a 35k cycle, find a fixer upper for next to nothing then learn how to fix them. On top of getting cheap transportation, you can sell your fix it abilities to fix other people's cycles.

It is very hard to advice in things quite personal but since you have shared it already. I suggest that you pick the one who will give you the chance to earn for long term and possibly can provide the said motorcycle if you have enough savings and long term source of income. Sometimes, we have to make sacrifices though how much we wanted for our desires like those who will make us happy, but we have to put in realization of a better productivity. Especially now that all people are working for competitions just to earn. Practicality and longer benefits has greater advantages. Once you have enough savings from your earnings, you can buy all what you wanted to have in a given time and privileges.

If I were on your shoe, I'll choose to have the business, as you've already pointed out that it's going to be a fruitful venture and you'll probably double or even triple the money in a year's time.
